Description
The REJ610 is a member of the ABB Relion® product family, specifically the 615 product series. This series includes feeder protection devices, motor protection devices, and general system voltage monitoring devices. Its plug-in design facilitates switchgear commissioning, allowing for faster and safer insertion and removal of the protection device.
In distribution substations with resistively grounded and directly grounded power systems, the REJ610 is primarily used to protect incoming and outgoing lines.
The REJ610 is suitable for marine and offshore applications. The REJ610 equipped with arc flash protection also provides arc flash protection for high-speed busbars in substations.
Applications
Cement plants/mines: Protection of high-voltage motor feeders and belt conveyor systems.
Steel and iron ore plants: Protection of power distribution circuits for control centers (MCCs).
Waterworks/sewage treatment plants: Safety control of incoming and outgoing circuits for large pumping stations.
Paper and packaging plants: Reliability assurance of power distribution systems for paper machines.
Automobile manufacturing plants: Feeder management for substations in assembly and painting workshops.
Competitive Advantage
In public power distribution and industrial applications, it serves as dedicated protection.
KEMA certified with a full suite of tests.
DNV certified for marine and offshore suitability.
The compact design of the 610 series allows for easy retrofitting and use in confined spaces.
The removable plug-in design makes routine maintenance quick and simple.

FAQ
Q: What is the REF610?
A: It is a feeder protection relay.
Q1: Does the REF610 support directional overcurrent protection?
A: No. The REF610 is a non-directional feeder protection relay. If your power grid is dual-supply or a ring network, you need a model with directional function (such as the REF615).
Q2: How can I quickly view the most recent fault trip current on the REF610?
A: You can directly read the peak current recorded at the moment of tripping through the "Events" or "Disturbance Record" menu on the panel.
Q3: How many automatic reclosing actions does the REF610 support?
A: It supports up to five automatic reclosing actions. Users can customize the number of actions and the interval time according to the different needs of overhead lines or cable lines.
Q5: Can the REF610 relay be used for the protection of high-voltage motors?
A: It can be used for basic overcurrent and overload protection, but if more professional motor functions are involved (such as negative sequence protection and start-up limit), it is recommended to choose the dedicated model REM610 in the same series.
