Description
The GE Fanuc IC697CPM915 module is a single-slot programmable CPU module. The IC697CPM915 module can be configured by using Windows or MS-DOS based software for the control of material handling systems, machines, and processes. The CPU programming is performed over Ethernet or through the SNP port. Programmer connections through the Ethernet requires the installation of an optional Ethernet module. The IC697CPM915 module communicates with option modules and with I/Os over the rack backplane by using the VME C.1 standard format. The IC697CPM915 is compatible with the IC697CHS750, IC697CHS782, IC697CHS783, IC697CHS790, and the IC697CHS791 racks. The IC697CPM915 module must only be installed in slot 1 of the rack. The operation of the IC697CPM915 module is controlled either by the RUN/STOP switch or remotely through a programmer which is attached to the RS-422/RS-485 serial port on the CPU module.

Functions
The IC697CPM915 Central Processing Unit (CPU) is a single slot programmable controller CPU which allows floating point calculations. The CPM915 is programmed and configured by MS-DOS or Windows based programming software to perform real time control of machines, processes and material handling systems. It communicates with I/O and smart option modules over the rack mounted backplane (IC697CHS750, 782, 783, 790, 791) by way of the VME C.1 Standard format.
Supported option modules include all IC697 LAN interface modules, several Coprocessor modules, Bus Controller for IC660/IC661 I/O, Communications mod compatible computer to the serial port of the module and running the Loader software included with the firmware floppy disk.
Installation
It is the responsibility of the OEM, system integrator, or end user to properly install the PLC equipment for safe and reliable operation. Connect the battery to either of the battery connectors on the module (see Figure 2).
Put the toggle switch in the STOP position.
Put the keyswitch in Memory Protection OFF position.
Make sure that rack power is off.
Install the CPM 915 module in slot 1 of rack 0.
Turn on power.
