Description
The DI814 3BUR001454R1 of input voltage range is 18 to 30 volt dc and the input current source is 6 mA at 24 V. The inputs are divided into two individually isolated groups with eight channels and one voltage supervision input in each group. Every input channel consists of current limiting components, EMC protection components, input state indication LED and optical isolation barrier. The process voltage supervision input give channel error signals if the voltage disappears. The error signal can be read through the ModuleBus.

Applications
Oil and Gas Refining Plants:
Used to monitor critical valve status and emergency shutdown (ESD) signals. In these plants, loss of acquired signals can lead to costly unplanned downtime; the DI814's redundancy provides double protection.
Large Thermal/Nuclear Power Plants:
Monitors boiler burner status and cooling water pump operation feedback. Since power production cannot tolerate instantaneous signal fluctuations, the DI814 ensures the absolute stability of core interlocking logic.
Chemical and Pharmaceutical Plants:
In reactor control, the DI814 is responsible for acquiring high and low alarm signals. Its industrial-grade overpressure protection capabilities can handle electromagnetic interference in complex environments.

FAQ
Q1: What is the difference between DI814 3BUR001454R1 and DI810?
A: DI814 is specifically optimized for redundancy, while DI810 is typically used for non-redundant standard acquisition. DI814 must be used in applications requiring dual-module hot backup.
Q2: Does DI814 3BUR001454R1 support 1ms Sequence of Events (SOE) recording?
A: No. For millisecond-level incident tracing, DI830 or DI831 should be used.
Q3: Can DI814 3BUR001454R1 be used in Safety Integrity Systems (SIL)?
A: DI814 is a high-reliability module for process control. For SIL3 certified safety systems, a dedicated S800 green safety series (such as DI880) should be used.
Q4: Why is one of my DI814 3BUR001454R1 reporting an error in a redundant configuration?
A: Please check the docking station connection. Redundant configurations require specific terminal units (such as TU842/TU843) to achieve parallel signal connection between the two boards.
Q5: What does a flashing Fault light on the DI814 3BUR001454R1 panel mean?
A: Flashing usually indicates that the module has detected an external channel fault (such as an abnormal external power supply) or an internal self-test error. The specific fault code needs to be checked through the system software.
