Description
The GE AKTA CU-950 Control unit is used as the controlling interface between a UNICORN workstation and the components of an AKTA system. The CU-950 unit consists of a back panel with connectors and three indicator lamps on the front. The unit is connected to UNICORN software through both the USB port and Ethernet interface. The CU-950 control box is for use with AKTAexplorer, AKTApurifier, AKTAFPLC, and AKTApilot systems. CU-950 unit consists of a rear panel with connectors and three indicators (LEDs) on the front. The unit is supplied with a small power converter and EU and US mains cables.

Hardware Integrity check
CU-950 have a hardware integrity check that is performed at power-up of the unit. Three LED’s in the front panel of the CU-950 display the status of:
1. The power to the CU-950
2. The connected PC
3. The connected system
Core Functions and Operating Principles
This device is a real-time processing unit responsible for executing methods created in the UNICORN software and managing manual system interactions.
Communication Bridge: It translates instructions from the computer into hardware actions and monitors various parameters during the chromatography process in real time.
Status Indicators: The front panel features three LED indicators that display the real-time status of Power, PC Connection, and System Communication.
Compatibility: Widely compatible with ÄKTAexplorer, ÄKTApurifier, ÄKTAFPLC, and ÄKTApilot systems, but generally not used with ÄKTAprime or ÄKTAxpress.
