Description
The 3300/47 Complementary Input Differential Expansion Monitor measures differential expansion on large machinery using two proximity probes in a complementary arrangement, providing one channel with a range up to double the linear range of a single transducer. The 3300/47 Complementary Input Differential Expansion Monitor accepts two transducer signals with 10 kΩ input impedance and jumper-selectable scale factors of 100 mV/mil, 20 mV/mil, or 10 mV/mil. Signal conditioning accuracy is ±0.33% typical and ±1% maximum at 25°C.
The 3300/47 Complementary Input Differential Expansion Monitor outputs voltage (0–+12 Vdc) and current (+4 to +20 mA) signals with 100 Ω impedance, and buffered outputs via front coaxial connectors and rear terminals with short-circuit protection. A non-multiplexing 83 mm vertical bargraph LCD shows both magnitude and direction of differential expansion within ±1.6% full-scale. Four digitally adjustable alarm setpoints (two over, two under) and LED indicators for OK, Alert, Danger, and Bypass allow automated monitoring. Operating temperature is 0°C to +65°C, storage -40°C to +85°C, and nominal power consumption is 1.5 W. The 3300/47 Complementary Input Differential Expansion Monitor is ideal for automated differential expansion monitoring in turbines, generators, and other large rotating machinery.
Applications
Monitor large turbine collar expansion with extended range
The 3300/47 Complementary Input Differential Expansion Monitor uses two complementary proximity probes to monitor rotor collar expansion up to 50 mm, exceeding the range of a single transducer, allowing precise automated detection of critical axial movement.
Automate alarm signaling for over/under expansion
Using four digitally adjustable alarm setpoints, the 3300/47 Complementary Input Differential Expansion Monitor outputs Alert and Danger alarms directly to PLCs or DCS systems when expansion exceeds ±1.6% of full-scale, supporting automated protective actions.
Transmit real-time expansion data to control systems
The 3300/47 Complementary Input Differential Expansion Monitor provides voltage outputs (0–+12 Vdc) and current outputs (+4 to +20 mA) with 100 Ω impedance, delivering high-accuracy data for automated monitoring and control systems.
Maintain continuous measurement with flexible probe placement
By arranging two probes complementarily, the 3300/47 Complementary Input Differential Expansion Monitor ensures one probe remains within range when the collar moves beyond the other, maintaining uninterrupted monitoring up to 50 mm.
