The REF615 IEC feeder protection and control unit is a dedicated feeder protection and control device specifically designed for the protection, control, measurement, and monitoring of public and industrial power distribution systems. The REF615 is adaptable to both ungrounded and resistively grounded grids. Furthermore, utilizing its advanced inter-station communication capabilities, the REF615 can also be used for ring or radial network protection. The protected grid includes multiple feeders and distributed generation.

Q: What is the REF615?
A: It is a Feeder Protection Relay.
Q1: Does the REF615 support directional protection?
A: Yes. This is one of the main differences between it and the REF610. It can determine the direction of current flow, making it ideal for ring network power supplies or systems with distributed power supply access.
Q2: What is the "removable" design of the REF615?
A: The core circuit board of the relay is mounted on a movable bracket. If the hardware fails, simply remove the old relay and insert the new one; the external secondary wiring does not need to be changed, greatly shortening repair time.
Q4: Can the REF615 monitor current and voltage simultaneously?
A: Yes. Depending on the specific configuration, it can be connected to three-phase current and three-phase voltage transformers to achieve power, frequency, and voltage protection.
