Description
The IC697CPX935 is a Series 90-30 Central Processing Unit (CPU). This controller is a single slot CPU module that comes with Three (3) serial ports for communication. Specifically, it has One (1) RS232 Serial port and Two (2) 9-pin D-shell RS485 interfaces. These ports support SNP Slave, Break-Free SNP Slave. SNP slave is supported by all ports while Break-Free SNP slave is available only to Port1 and Port 2. The IC697CPX935 is also provided with a 96 MHz, 80486DX4 microprocessor with Boolean execution speed of 0.4 microseconds, It has an integrated 1MB battery-backed Random Access Memory (RAM) and 256 KB non-volatile flash memory. This controller accommodates 12K bits of Discrete input and output data. For analog Input and output, the controller has 8K Words memory allocation. This enables the controller to be used in large applications due to the I/O capacity it is capable of. The IC697CPX935 must be installed in an environment not exceeding 50 Degree Celsius. This CPU requires use of a Forced air-cooling fan to maintain the temperature with limits.

Configuration
The IC697 CPU and I/O system is configured with MS-DOS or Windows based programming software, although the MS-DOS software does not support all features, such as Bulk Memory Area (BMA), which requires the Windows software version 2.2 or later. The CPU verifies the actual module and rack configuration at power-up and periodically during operation. The actual configuration must be the same as the programmed configuration. Deviations are reported to the CPU alarm processor function for configured fault response.
