Description
The 3300 NSv Proximity Probe is a high-performance eddy current transducer specifically designed for tight installation environments in industrial automation. Engineered for centrifugal air compressors, refrigeration compressors, process gas compressors, and compact machinery, the 3300 NSv probe delivers precise non-contact measurement of radial vibration, shaft displacement, and axial position even on small targets. Its robust AISI 304 stainless steel case and chemically resistant PPS probe tip ensure durability in harsh process conditions, withstanding operating temperatures from -52°C to +177°C (-62°F to +351°F). Featuring a linear range of 1.5 mm (60 mils), recommended gap of 1.0 mm (40 mils), and an output resistance of 50 Ω, this probe is fully compatible with existing 3300 RAM extension cables and monitoring systems. Miniature coaxial ClickLoc connectors provide secure, gold-plated connections, while the patented TipLoc and CableLoc designs offer superior mechanical strength, with 220 N (50 lb) pull resistance on the cable connection. The 3300 NSv probe supports multiple agency approvals and is available with M10X1, M8X1, 3/8-24, or 1/4-28 threads to meet diverse automation installation requirements. Its small target and side-view capabilities make it ideal for applications where traditional probes cannot be used, providing reliable signal output and precise measurements in constrained environments.
Applications
1. Radial Vibration Monitoring on Small Shafts
The 3300 NSv probe accurately measures radial vibration on shafts smaller than 51 mm (2 in) in compressors and industrial motors, maintaining linearity across a 1.5 mm (60 mils) range.
2. Axial (Thrust) Position Sensing
For fluid-filmed bearing machines, the probe delivers precise axial displacement readings on flat targets as small as 15 mm (0.6 in), supporting thrust monitoring in process compressors.
3. Tachometer and Zero-Speed Detection
Integrated with Proximitor Sensors, the 3300 NSv system provides reliable zero-speed and speed monitoring for rotating equipment, ensuring automation systems maintain accurate rotational control.
4. Phase Reference Measurement (Keyphasor Signals)
The probe produces stable phase reference signals for vibration analysis and machinery diagnostics, enabling predictive maintenance in automated industrial systems.
5. Compact or Constrained Machine Installations
With reverse-mount and side-view capabilities, the 3300 NSv probe can be installed in tight locations where standard 3300 or 3300 XL probes cannot fit, without compromising measurement accuracy or signal integrity.

Competitive Advantage
1. Enhanced Side-View Capability
The NSv probe design allows installation in counter bore, side-view, or rear-view restricted areas, surpassing the 3000-series 190 and 3300 RAM probes for automation applications with limited clearance.
2. Chemical and Thermal Resistance
Polyphenylene sulfide (PPS) probe tip and stainless steel housing resist harsh chemicals and extreme temperatures from -52°C to +177°C, making it ideal for process compressors and industrial automation environments.
3. High Compatibility with Legacy Systems
The probe is mechanically and electrically compatible with existing 3300 RAM extension cables and Proximitor Sensors, enabling easy upgrades without replacing monitoring systems.
4. Robust Connector and Cable Design
Gold-plated ClickLoc connectors with TipLoc molding and CableLoc 220 N (50 lb) pull strength ensure secure signal transmission, minimizing downtime due to loose or damaged connections.
5. Precision Measurement for Small Targets
With a 1.5 mm linear range and recommended 1.0 mm gap, the 3300 NSv probe ensures accurate displacement and vibration readings for small or compact machine targets, critical for high-precision automation systems.
