Description
The Honeywell FC-TSDI-1624 is a Safe Digital Input FTA module. This module connects industrial field devices and control racks in the production workshop to receive and process open and close signals from various safety switches, buttons, or sensors in the field, and safely transmits these signals to the system to monitor abnormal changes throughout the production process.
Applications
Oil refinery: monitors emergency shutdown valve status and high-level switch signals to prevent flammable material leakage.
Thermal power plant: provides safe input for boiler management system (BMS), including drum level and pressure switch signals.
Large chemical plant: monitors reactor critical pressure and temperature alarm states to ensure controlled exothermic reactions.
LNG plant: used for ultra-low temperature tank and pipeline leak detection and emergency shutdown (ESD) flow isolation control.
Offshore oil production facility: safely acquires wellhead and separation system interlock signals under severe salt-spray marine conditions.
Troubleshooting
No Signal Input: First, check if the external 24V DC power supply exceeds the range of -15% to +30%. If the voltage is normal, check if the field terminals are loose, or if the PTC thermistor has overheated due to an external short circuit and triggered its protection. Power off, allow it to cool, and then reset it.
Intermittent Signal Acquisition Interruption: Check if the screw terminal tightening torque reaches 0.5 Nm. Insufficient torque can lead to poor contact due to prolonged vibration. Also, confirm that the wire stripping length is the standard 7 mm to prevent insulation from pressing into the terminals.
