Description

DS200TBQCG1ABB is an Analog Input Milliamp I/O Termination Module manufactured and designed by General Electric as part of the Mark V Series used in GE Speedtronic Gas turbine Control Systems. The Analog Input Termination Module (TBQC) is in location nine on the, and cores. TBQC connects the 4-20 mA inputs and the LVDT/R position inputs to the TCOA board in its respective core. The 20 - 200 mA outputs are read from the corresponding cores TCOA boards. The outputs can be configured as a 20 mA maximum current or a 200 mA maximum current using hardware jumpers on the TBQC terminal board. It is used to interface analog signals typically in the form of a current signal (usually 4-20 mA), with a control system, such as a PLC (Programmable Logic Controller). These modules are used to monitor analog sensors like temperature, pressure, or flow transducers, which provide outputs in the form of current.

Applications

Gas turbine and steam turbine power plants: Deployed in GE Mark V systems to terminate analog signals from turbines.

Monitor and control critical turbine parameters, such as exhaust temperature, pressure, flow rate, and control valve (LVDT/R) position feedback.

Oil and gas (O&G): Used in liquefied natural gas (LNG) plants, crude oil transfer pumping stations, and compressor stations.

Manage complex 4-20 mA sensor networks to ensure the safety and continuity of oil and gas processing.

Large manufacturing and heavy industry: Responsible for redundant control of power systems in industrial facilities with their own power plants or heavy-duty drive systems, such as paper mills and steel mills.

FEATURES

1.Signal Conversion: The module converts the analog current signal (typically 4-20 mA) into a digital format, allowing it to be processed and interpreted by control systems, such as PLCs or DCS,

2.Signal Termination: It provides the necessary electrical connections and termination for the wiring, ensuring the analog signal is correctly received, transmitted and integrated into the system

3.Isolation: Often features galvanic isolation, which helps protect the control system from electrical noise, voltage spikes, or ground loops that could occur in the sensor’ s signal, ensuring accurate data transmission

4.Multiple Inputs: These modules can handle multiple analog inputs at once, enabling the system to monitor and process data from several sensors simultaneously, increasing flexibility and efficiency in monitoring various process variables.

5.Signal Conditioning: Some modules offer signal conditioning features like filtering, scaling, or calibration, which enhance the accuracy and reliability of the signal by adjusting it for specific applications or operational needs.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

1.What is an DS200TBQCG1ABB Analog Input Milliamp I/O Termination Module?

An Analog Input Milliamp I/O Termination Module is a device that converts analog current signals (usually in the 4-20 mA range) into digital signals that can be processec by control systems like PLCs or DCS. It also provides termination for the wiring and ensures proper signal transmission.

2.Why is signal conversion necessary in this DS200TBQCG1ABB?

Signal conversion is essential because control systems typically process digital signals, whereas many industrial sensors output analog signals. The module converts these analog current signals into a digital format, allowing them to be easily interpreted by the control system.

3.What does signal termination of DS200TBQCG1ABB mean in this context?

Signal termination refers to the proper connection of the analog signal wiring to the module. It ensures the signal is received correctly, transmitted without loss, and properly communicated to the control system.
