Description
The remote S900 I/O system can be installed in non-hazardous areas or directly in Zone 1 or Zone 2 hazardous area depending on the selected system variant. S900 I/O communicates with the control system level using the PROFIBUS DP standard. The I/O system can be installed directly in the field, therefore the costs for marshalling and wiring are reduced.
The system is sturdy, error-tolerant and easy to service. Integrated disconnection mechanisms allow replacement during operation, meaning that there is no need to interrupt the primary voltage in order to exchange the power supply units.

Troubleshooting
Sensor Open Circuit/Short Circuit Detection: The module automatically monitors each channel. If a sensor is damaged or a cable is broken, the corresponding channel status bit will report an error and trigger a system alarm.
Excessive Reading Deviation:
Check Wiring: For RTDs, confirm that the correct compensation method (3-wire or 4-wire) has been selected.
Cold Junction Compensation: For TCs, confirm that the cold junction compensation setting matches the field terminal unit (MTU) type.
50/60Hz Interference: Confirm in the configuration software that the notch filter setting is consistent with the field power frequency to eliminate common-mode interference.
Maintenance
