Description
The Velomitor CT 190501-12-00-05 Velocity Transducer is a precision low-frequency piezoelectric velocity sensor designed for industrial automation applications. Engineered to monitor vibration in cooling towers and air-cooled heat-exchanger fan assemblies, this sensor excels at measuring casing vibration velocities for fans operating at 100–300 rpm, with high accuracy even at low frequencies. Its sensitivity of 3.94 mV/mm/s (100 mV/in/s) ±5% ensures precise detection of subtle vibration changes, while the robust 316L stainless steel case provides durability in harsh environments. The MIL-C-5015 two-pin connector allows secure and reliable connections, and the sensor supports mounting in any orientation on a 33 mm diameter surface using standard 3/8-in–24 to M8x1 plate studs. The Velomitor CT features a broad frequency response of 3.0 Hz to 900 Hz (±1 dB) or 1.5 Hz to 1 kHz (±3 dB), temperature sensitivity ranging from –8% to +5% over the operating range, and can withstand extreme environmental conditions including temperatures from –40°C to +85°C, 5000 g shock, and 100% condensing humidity. Certified to CSA/NRTL/C (Class I, Division 1) and ATEX/IECEx (Class I, Zone 0/1) standards, the Velomitor CT provides reliable, continuous vibration monitoring for critical rotating equipment in automated industrial systems.
Applications
Cooling Tower Fan Vibration Monitoring
Designed to measure casing vibration velocities in cooling tower fans operating at 100–300 rpm, enabling predictive maintenance and early detection of imbalance or misalignment issues.
Air-Cooled Heat Exchanger Fan Diagnostics
Detects vibration amplitudes and frequencies generated by motors and speed reducers in air-cooled heat exchangers, supporting automated performance monitoring and fault prevention.
Rotating Equipment Condition Monitoring
Ideal for industrial automation systems requiring low-frequency vibration analysis, the Velomitor CT provides high-accuracy velocity measurements for predictive maintenance programs.
Process Control and Automation Integration
Supports integration into automated process control systems through its MIL-C-5015 connector, allowing real-time monitoring and seamless data collection for industrial digital twins or control software.
Harsh Environment Monitoring
With 316L stainless steel housing, wide operating temperature range (–40°C to +85°C), and 100% condensing humidity tolerance, it can be deployed in aggressive chemical, outdoor, and high-humidity industrial environments.
