Description
The Woodward 9907-027 is a high-voltage AC load sharing module. It is primarily used in multi-generator grid-connected systems to monitor the voltage and current of generator sets, dynamically calculate their actual output power (kW), and, through communication with load sharing modules of other generator sets, dynamically balance the isochronous or droop loads among multiple generator sets.
Applications
Thermal Power Plants: Balances load sharing and grid frequency between steam turbine generators.
Shipbuilding Plants: Manages marine generator paralleling under variable sea conditions.
Petrochemical Plants: Controls emergency backup power using Droop and Isochronous modes.
Emergency Power Plants: Enables fast generator synchronization with SPM-A compatibility.
Aviation Maintenance Plants: Regulates specialized ground power units for aircraft systems.
Function
Isochronous Load Sharing: Automatically sharing the load when multiple generators are connected in parallel.
Droop Load Sharing: Load is distributed based on the frequency droop characteristic during single/multi machine operation.
Accurate speed control: Output analog voltage signals to control the engine/generator speed.
Special Note
Connect actuator wires to terminal 20 (positive) and 21 (negative); connect shield to terminal 22. Do not bond actuator and shield at any other point.
Before installation of 9907-027, check the module for damage and verify the speed sensor condition. Ensure a tight connection between actuator and prime mover. Terminal 16 provides a DC supply for terminals 14, 17, 18, 19, and 30.
For droop adjustment, open contact at terminal 14 and adjust the potentiometer to set speed. If overspeed occurs, check the prime mover and fuel system.
