Description
5464-653 is a Discrete Output Module developed by Woodward. From field wirina.the MicroNet control can provide discrete outputs to the prime mover. Each of these Discrete Output (DO) modules can individually control 32 outputs in response to CPU module commands. These modules lack potentiometers and do not require calibration. A module can be replaced with another module with the same part number with no modifications.
Applications
Thermal power plant: Used in ETS and boiler interlocks for fast shutdown of fuel and relief valves in emergencies.
Heavy chemical plant: Installed in DCS output systems for large-scale solenoid and relay control under harsh temperatures.
Shipbuilding industry: Used in marine engine and deck alarm systems with high-density channels to save cabinet space.
Automotive plant: Used in pneumatic valve control on welding lines with fault LEDs for quick diagnostics and stable timing.
Features
Open drain drivers designed for use with Woodward relay interface modules,
Fault Detection Readback: Output channel status is unavailable, as is relay status,
System Faults: If communication with the CPU is lost, outputs are turned off.
Installation
The modules slide into chassis card guides and connect to the motherboard. They are fixed with top and bottom front-panel screws, and can be released using handles that push the module outward to disengage the backplane connectors. The CPU sends digital data to the module, which generates 32 non-isolated relay driver outputs.
Discrete output modules interface with Woodward relay modules (16 or 32 relays). Relay contacts connect to field wiring and require an external 24 Vdc supply, not provided by the module. Power can be drawn from a multi-output or single-output main power supply if sufficient current is available.
