Description
The ABB S200-OE4 S200OE4 is an analog output module designed specifically for Satt DCS (Distributed Control Systems) and related controllers (such as Advant Controller 250, SattCon 200, etc.). It accurately converts digital commands into physical signals to drive control valves, frequency converters, and other actuators.
Applications
Petrochemical plants: Used to control the opening of regulating valves and maintain reactor pressure or liquid level.
Paper and packaging plants: Used to drive frequency converters to adjust the motor speeds of the paper machine wire section and drying section.
Food and beverage plants: Used in real-time to adjust the heater power output based on feedback signals during sterilization processes.
Water treatment plants: Used to adjust the dosage of dosing pumps and the frequency of water pump frequency converters.
Cement production plants: Used for high-precision analog control of damper actuators and feeding systems.
Troubleshooting
PWR LED is not lit
Measure:
1. Check +24 V DC.
2. Check the wiring to +24 V DC.
A break in a 4–20 mA loop has been detected by the system
Measure:
1. Check cabling and connections.
2. Check if a power-line filter for the power supply has been fitted.
3. Check if shielded twisted-pair cables have been connected for the I/O signals.
4. Check the actuator.
5. Check the value at the terminal base unit.(1)
6. Check that the correct type of output is selected in the hardware configuration program.
7. Replace the unit.
An erroneous analog value has occurred at the actuator
Measure:
1. Check value at the terminal base unit(1).
2. Check that the correct type of output is selected in the hardware configuration program.
3. Replace the unit.

FAQ
Q1: Does the S200-OE4 S200OE4 support mixed voltage and current output?
Yes. Each channel can typically be independently configured in software for current (e.g., 4–20mA) or voltage (e.g., 0–10V) mode.
Q2: What does it mean when the indicator light on the S200-OE4 S200OE4 module panel is off?
This usually indicates that the module is not receiving system bus communication or that there is an external power supply failure. Please check the 24V power supply signal from the base first.
Q3: Why is the measured output only 0mA on the S200-OE4 S200OE4, but the software shows output?
This could be due to an external circuit break or oxidation of the gold fingers connecting the base to the module. Try reseating the module or checking the external load impedance.
Q4: What ohms of load can the S200-OE4 S200OE4 drive?
In current mode, it typically supports a maximum circuit impedance of 500–600 ohms, depending on the external power supply voltage.
Q5: Can I connect the output of the S200-OE4 S200OE4 with a regular cable?
Shielded twisted-pair cable must be used to prevent electromagnetic noise in the factory environment from interfering with the accuracy of the analog output signal.
