Description
Bently Nevada™ Velomitor Piezo-velocity Sensors are designed to measure absolute (relative to free space) bearing housing, casing, or structural vibration. The 330500 is a specialized piezoelectric accelerometer that incorporates embedded integrated electronics in a solid-state design. Because the 330500 incorporates solid-state electronics and has no moving parts, it does not suffer from mechanical degradation and wear, and can be mounted vertically, horizontally, or at any other angle of orientation. The VELOMITOR 330500 Velomitor Piezo-velocity Sensor measures absolute bearing, casing, and structural vibration for industrial automation systems. The VELOMITOR 330500 operates from -55°C to 121°C, survives shocks up to 5,000 g peak, and tolerates humidity up to 100% non-submerged in its hermetically sealed 316L stainless steel case. Base strain sensitivity is 0.005 in/s/mstrain, magnetic susceptibility is <51 min/s/gauss at 50 gauss, and output impedance is <2400 Ω. The VELOMITOR 330500 provides ±2% amplitude linearity to 152 mm/s (6 in/s) peak and can be mounted vertically, horizontally, or at any angle due to its solid-state design with no moving parts.
Applications
Oil refining and chemical processing plants: In these environments with stringent explosion-proof requirements, the 330500 is commonly used to monitor critical compressors, pumps, and motors. It possesses multiple explosion-proof certifications (such as CSA, ATEX, NEPSI) to ensure safe operation in flammable and explosive areas.
Power industry: Used in power plants to monitor steam turbines, gas turbines, and blowers. It effectively detects bearing housing vibrations caused by imbalance or misalignment.
General industrial manufacturing: Used in large rotating equipment employing rolling bearings. Because its primary unit of measurement is velocity, it is ideal for identifying mechanical faults in the mid-frequency range (4.5 Hz to 5 kHz).
