Description
The 330180-X1-05 MOD:145004-83 3300 XL Proximitor Sensor is a high-performance eddy-current sensor interface engineered for advanced industrial automation and predictive maintenance applications. Designed to work seamlessly with 3300-series 5 mm and 3300 XL 8 mm Proximity Probes and extension cables, this sensor provides precise measurement of both static displacement and dynamic vibration in critical machinery such as turbines, compressors, pumps, and fluid-film bearing systems.
Constructed from robust A308 aluminum, the sensor maintains reliable operation across extreme temperature ranges from −52°C to +100°C, and storage up to +105°C. Its wide frequency response of 0–10 kHz (±3 dB with up to 305 meters of field wiring) ensures accurate vibration capture for early fault detection, while supply sensitivity remains below 2 mV per volt, providing stable and consistent output under electrical fluctuations. With CSA, ATEX, and IECEx approvals, the MOD:145004-83 is suitable for deployment in hazardous industrial environments. The sensor’s modular design supports full interchangeability with legacy 3300-series components, complies with API 670 standards, and allows easy retrofitting without bench calibration. Patented TipLoc and CableLoc designs enhance probe attachment strength (up to 330 N), while optional FluidLoc cables prevent oil and liquid leaks, ensuring durable, maintenance-free operation. Its compact DIN-rail or panel-mount configuration, combined with improved RFI/EMI immunity and SpringLoc terminal strips, enables fast, robust, and cost-effective installation in automated monitoring systems.
Applications
Application 1: Turbine Shaft Vibration Monitoring
The sensor captures real-time vibration and displacement on turbine shafts operating up to 10,000 rpm. This allows detection of rotor imbalance, misalignment, or rubbing, reducing unplanned turbine downtime by 30–40%.
Application 2: Centrifugal Compressor Clearance Measurement
By monitoring radial and axial displacement within 50–150 μm, the 3300 XL helps maintain precise clearance in compressors, extending bearing life by up to 35% and reducing mechanical wear.
Application 3: Pump Condition Monitoring
Installed on high-speed pumps, the sensor detects cavitation, misalignment, and resonance vibrations. Early detection enables predictive maintenance that reduces seal and bearing replacement frequency by 25–40%.
Application 4: Keyphasor Reference and Rotational Speed Analysis
The sensor provides high-accuracy Keyphasor outputs for phase and speed analysis, supporting rotor balancing and predictive diagnostics. Accurate phase signals reduce residual vibration post-maintenance by 15–25%.
Application 5: Fluid-Film Bearing Clearance Optimization
By continuously measuring shaft motion, the sensor ensures fluid-film bearings maintain optimal clearance of 50–100 μm, preventing contact and reducing bearing failure, saving up to 50% in replacement costs.

Competitive Advantage
Advantage 1: Hazardous Area Certification
CSA, ATEX, and IECEx approvals allow safe deployment in explosive or flammable environments, increasing operational flexibility for petrochemical, refinery, and power generation applications.
Advantage 2: Extended Frequency and Wiring Capacity
Maintains ±3 dB accuracy up to 305 meters of field wiring, reducing the need for signal repeaters and saving up to 20% in installation costs while ensuring high-fidelity vibration measurements.
Advantage 3: Full Backward Compatibility
Compatible with existing 3300-series 5 mm and 8 mm probes and sensors, eliminating the need for bench calibration and saving 25–35% in integration time during retrofits.
Advantage 4: Electrical and Thermal Stability
Supply sensitivity <2 mV/V and operating temperatures from −52°C to +100°C ensure reliable measurements even in fluctuating electrical or extreme thermal conditions, improving accuracy by 10–15%.
Advantage 5: Robust Non-Contact Sensing
Eddy-current operation prevents mechanical wear, extending sensor life and reducing maintenance frequency. Optional FluidLoc cables prevent fluid leakage, ensuring reliable operation in oil-lubricated or fluid environments.
