Description
The TMG 740-3 is a burner control box, which is capable of controlling and monitoring medium to high performance forced draught and dual fuel oil/gas burners in single or two stage versions. It can be used, as prefered, for multi-stage or modulating operation with burners of any nominal rating as well as in direct air heaters.
Applications
Glass plants: Provides precise flame ignition sequence monitoring in furnace burner control, preventing cooling and glass cracking caused by flame loss.
Steel plants: Drives high-power gas shut-off valves in furnaces with strong single-channel output capability.
Petrochemical plants: Works with IR/UV sensors for continuous safety interlock monitoring in process heaters and incinerators.
Ceramic plants: Ensures safe combustion and ignition through air pressure interlocks in high-temperature kiln systems.
Construction Feature
The control box is enclosed in a protective, flame resistant, transparent, plug-in type plastic housing, and includes:
- Synchronous motor with gearbox driving cam switch
- Cam switch with informative, coloured programme indicator
- 16-way cam switch assembly controlling the programme sequence
- 2 DC relays and 1 remanence relay on common yoke
- Plug-in printed circuit board with mains transformer, LED display and electronic components
Mounting and Electrical Installation
Can be mounted in any position and meets IP44 protection, resistant to water spray. Avoid strong vibration on control box and detector probes. For UVZ 780 UV sensors, ensure proper grounding via metal flange.
If using an ionisation electrode, take safety measures to prevent accidental contact. Flame detection becomes unstable if neutral-to-earth voltage exceeds 25 V; an isolation transformer is required.
Detector cable lengths must follow specifications by cable type. Avoid parallel runs with mains cables and do not use multi-core cables.
