Description

The Honeywell TK-ORC161 is a Relay Discrete Output Module. This module is primarily installed in the factory's automation control cabinet. It receives digital on/off signals from the main control box and uses internal relay hardware to activate external circuits.

Applications

Chemical Plants: Safety interlock and explosion valve control.

Power Plants: Breaker trip and unit alarms.

Refineries: Equipment start/stop and pipeline valves.

Steel Mills: Furnace motors and heavy drive control.

Cement Plants: Conveyor feeding and fan control.

Troubleshooting

Contact Sticking or Inability to Disconnect: External inductive load or arc discharge may shorten contact life (300k/100k cycles). Check output impedance; if sticking occurs, replace module and add DC freewheeling diode or AC RC snubber.

False Triggering After Low-Power Load Connection: Off-state leakage current up to 1.5 mA may keep high-impedance loads (e.g., LED indicators) slightly active. Add a parallel bleeder resistor to eliminate residual current effects.

Intermittent Open Circuit or Failure to Close: Minimum operating load is 10 mA per channel. Low-current dry contacts may fail due to contact oxidation; ensure load current meets requirement.
