Description
The NTAC-02 module is a pulse encoder interface that converts pulse encoder signals into digital signals for connection to a host controller. Featuring high precision, high reliability, and ease of use, the NTAC-02 module is suitable for various industrial automation applications. Its modular design facilitates expansion and maintenance.
Applications
Paper and pulp mills: Paper machine drive units. Multiple motors require precise speed synchronization to prevent paper breakage.
Metallurgical plants: Strip mills and shearing lines. Closed-loop control is required to ensure extremely high dimensional accuracy.
Crane and material handling plants: Port cranes and automated warehouse stacker cranes. Ensuring precise and safe lifting and positioning.
Feature
High Compatibility: Specifically designed for ABB frequency converters.
High Precision: Accurately collects encoder signals for precise control.
Flexible configuration: Supports multiple encoder types and signal formats.
Isolation Protection: Improves system reliability by reducing interference.
closed-Loop Control: Enables feedback-based motor speed and position control.
Synchronous operation: Supports multi-motor synchronization.
FAQ
Q: Can the NTAC-02 connect to an HTL type encoder?
A: No. The NTAC-02 only supports TTL levels. If using an HTL encoder, select the corresponding module such as NRTX-01 or FEN-31.
Q: Do I need to reset the parameters after replacing the NTAC-02?
A: Yes. You must set the encoder pulse count (PPR) and module type in inverter parameter group 50 (ENCODER MODULE) and perform static identification.
Q: Why is the encoder feedback direction opposite to the actual motor rotation about NTAC-02?
A: No rewiring is required. Simply change the encoder phase sequence in the inverter parameters (A/B phase swap logic), or directly swap the A+ and A- wiring on the module.
Q: What is the DIP switch on the NTAC-02 used for?
A: It is used to set the encoder supply voltage (5V or 15V) and the signal termination matching resistor. Incorrect settings may burn out the encoder or cause signal loss.
Q: Does the NTAC-02 support absolute encoders (SSI/EnDat)?
A: No. It only supports incremental encoders. For absolute feedback, you need to use the ACS880 series with a FEN-type module.
