Description

The MAG-XM 50XM2000 converter processes the flowrate proportional signals from the electromagnetic flowmeter primary into frequency proportional pulse signals (scaled or unscaled output) and into a current output.

Applications

Water Treatment and Municipal Engineering: Flow monitoring in waterworks, inlet and outlet metering in wastewater treatment plants, and sludge flow monitoring.

Chemical and Petrochemical Industries: Process control for conveying corrosive solutions such as acids, alkalis, and salts.

Pulp and Paper Mills: Precise measurement of high-concentration, fibrous fluids such as pulp, black liquor, and green liquor.

Food and Beverage: Batch filling and production line proportioning control for dairy products, beverages, and liquid foods (hygienic connection required).

Metallurgy and Mining: Slurry conveying and cooling water circulation systems in mining operations.

Installation

The installation site for the converter must be essentially free of vibration. The specified temperature limits of -25 °C and +60 °C must be observed. Consideration must be given to the max. signal cable length between the flowmeter primary and the converter which is limited to 200 m1). For agency approved EMF designs (Volume Flow Integrators) the max. cable length is 100 m. In addition the installation site of the converter should not be exposed to direct sunlight.

If the ambient temperature limit of +60 °C is exceeded the readability of the LC-Display is affected. It will no longer to read the process information. If it in not possible to avoid direct sunlight, a sun shield should be installed.
