Description

The 89AR30 Relay unit contains prototype-tested relays *) with positively driven contacts. The contacts of relays K1, K2, K3 are grouped in two circuits and are wired in 2-out-of-3 order according to the open-circuit principle(external jumpers B18-B20). Auxiliary contacts can be used to interrogate the individual relay positions. Relays K4, K5, and K6 are freely available. K4 may be used for instance for the emergency trip pushbutton of a certain protection circuit either based on the closed-circuit or the open circuit principle. In that case, the required jumpers need to be positioned on the edge connector.

Applications

Thermal power plants: Serving as a critical output relay in the turbine control system (TSI/ETS), performing emergency tripping.

Waste-to-energy plants: Monitoring generator protection circuits.

Combined cycle power plants: Responsible for power distribution and signal isolation within complex distributed control systems (DCS).

Chemical plants: Used for electrical interlocking protection of critical high-voltage equipment.

Steel mills: Safety protection circuits for large blower units or power systems.

Competitive Advantage

The module contains six relays, three of which can be wired according to user-specific needs. The contacts of the other relays are wired in a 2-out-of-3 pattern.

FAQ

Q: What is the 89AR30?
A: It is a relay unit.

Q: How many control signals does the 89AR30 support?
A: It is a dual-channel unit with 6 built-in relays. K1-K3 form a voting circuit, while K4-K6 can be used independently.

Q: What is a "forced guided contact" in the 89AR30?
A: This is a safety design. If the normally open contacts are soldered together, the normally closed contacts cannot close, ensuring that faults can be detected.

Q: Can the 89AR30 be directly used to drive a 220V solenoid valve?
A: Yes, its contact rated current is up to 16A, which is sufficient to handle the starting current of most industrial-grade solenoid valves.

Q: In what scenarios is the K4 relay in the 89AR30 typically used?
A: K4 is often assigned to "emergency trip button" protection circuits, supporting open or closed circuit principles.
