Description
I/O unit with two pulse transmitter interfaces, each with four optocoupled inputs. The maximum pulse frequency is 100 kHz. The I/O unit is configured using the control system program. 200-IP2 200IP2 can be adapted for a wide range of applications, for example, for counting pulses from pulse transmitters or incremental encoders with one or two pulse trains. Quantity counting, positioning and speed calculation are examples of other applications. 200-IP2 200IP2 has two 16-bit up/down counters, which are individually programmable. The number of edges to be counted in a pulse train can be specified to x1, x2 or x4. Complementary or noncomplementary pulse transmitters can be connected. The status of each input signal is indicated by a yellow LED. One bicoloured LED indicates function status.
Applications
Food packaging plants: Connect to rotary encoders for precise control of packaging paper length and cutting position.
Steel smelting plants: Monitor conveyor roller speeds to ensure synchronization of cold or hot rolling processes.
Paper mills/chemical fiber plants: Used for length measurement and linear speed control of winding equipment.
Water treatment plants: Connect to pulse flow meters for accurate instantaneous flow calculation and cumulative water volume statistics.
Printing plants: Synchronize printing cylinder phases at high speeds to prevent color registration errors.
Features
The Series 200 I/O System features:
Replacement under system power
CE and UL approvement
Software configurable function
Mechanical coding for safe replacement
Safety function on outputs in remote configuration
Variety of termination options
The same I/O units in central and remote configurations
Compatible with I/O 200C
FAQ
Q: Can the 200-IP2 200IP2 module be connected to a regular proximity switch?
A: Yes, the 200-IP2 200IP2 can be connected to a standard proximity switch, provided the output frequency does not exceed 100 kHz and the signal level is 24V DC.
Q: How do I set the 200-IP2 200IP2 to 32-bit counting mode?
A: For the 200-IP2 200IP2, the counting mode must be changed in the controller’s hardware configuration software (such as AC800M), where the channel parameter can be switched from 16-bit to 32-bit mode.
Q: Why is the count value of the 200-IP2 200IP2 constantly fluctuating?
A: For the 200-IP2 200IP2, unstable counts are often caused by electrical noise interference. It is recommended to enable the built-in digital filter function and ensure signal cables are properly separated from power lines.
Q: Can a faulty 200-IP2 200IP2 be replaced with an S200C series module?
A: Yes, the 200-IP2 200IP2 can be replaced by an S200C series module, as the S200C is an upgraded and compatible series. After replacement, it is important to verify that the I/O address mapping remains correct.
Q: Does the 200-IP2 200IP2 input require an external power supply?
A: The 200-IP2 200IP2 is powered via the bus base, but the external pulse signal circuit typically requires a separate 24V DC supply to ensure stable and reliable signal acquisition.
