Description
The 10201/2/1 is a fail-safe digital output module of the Honeywell Safety Manager system. Equipped with eight independent output channels and employing advanced solid-state source output technology, this module drives solenoid valves, relays, indicator lights, and other actuators in harsh industrial environments.
Applications
Refinery: Receive logic signals to control pneumatic shut-off valves, isolating crude pipelines during fire or overpressure events.
Chemical plant: Output switching signals to drive reactor vent valves, releasing pressure during temperature control failure.
Power plant: Control boiler fuel shut-off valves, cutting fuel supply when flameout is detected.
Pharmaceutical plant: Drive safety interlock isolation valves on fermenters, blocking pipelines during process anomalies.
Test
Within the configured process safety time, the outputs are tested for:
• ability to de-energize,
• ability to de-energize the group (via secondary means),
• crosstalk between outputs, and
• functioning of the suppression diodes.
The outputs are split into two groups of four outputs each. Each group has its own secondary means of de-energization. This increases the shutdown selectivity in case of a channel failure. The secondary means of de-energization enables the watchdog and/or the processor to de-energize the outputs, irrespective of the result of the application function.
FAQ
Q: For module 10201/2/1, how many output channels does it have and what is the output specification?
A: 8 channels, 24 V DC solid-state source output with short-circuit protection.
Q: What is the maximum output current and maximum lamp load (Lamp load) of module 10201/2/1?
A: The maximum current is 550 mA, and the maximum lamp load is 120 mA (2.9 W).
Q: What is the voltage drop of module 10201/2/1 at 500 mA current?
A: The voltage drop is less than 2.0 V DC (off-state leakage current < 0.1 mA).
Q: What are the internal and external current requirements of module 10201/2/1 when there is no output load?
A: Internal current is 25 mA, external current is 70 mA (5 V DC current is 25 mA).
Q: What is the coding against incorrect insertion and the occupied space of module 10201/2/1?
A: The anti-misplug coding is A9 and C9, and it occupies 4 TE width and 3 HE height (4 HP, 3U).
