Description

The 10105/2/1 is a fail-safe high-density analog input module in a safety control system, installed within the control rack. This module centrally acquires multiple continuously changing current or voltage signals via terminal blocks, converting field process parameters into digital data for monitoring and interlocking calculations. It is applied to process level, pressure, and temperature monitoring.

Applications

Large-scale Oil Refineries: Monitor pressure and flow signals while saving cabinet space.

LNG Receiving Terminal Plants: Ensure reliable ESD signal acquisition in harsh environments.

Pharmaceutical Chemical Plants: Monitor reactor voltage signals for process safety.

Semiconductor Wafer Fabrication Plants: Monitor critical gas sensing voltages to prevent process risks.

Conversion

The analog inputs of the 10105/2/1 module require the field signals to be converted from 0-20 mA to a level that can be used by the 10105/2/1 module. This conversion can be established in two ways:

1 on the field termination assembly module FTA-T-14, or

2 using the analog input conversion module 10105/A/1, which is placed on a programming connector (Px) on the back of the I/O backplane in the 19-inch rack.

Analog input signals such as thermocouple, PT-100, etc. can only be used after conversion to 0(4)-20 mA using a dedicated converter (and an FTA-T-14 or 10105/A/1 module).

Troubleshooting and Maintenance Recommendations

Troubleshooting: If the system indicates abnormal channel data, first check for transient surge voltages exceeding ±36 Vdc. Utilize its "External Voltage Readback" function to quickly pinpoint whether the fault lies with the field transmitter or the internal acquisition circuit.

Maintenance Recommendations: Due to the high channel density, ensure proper grounding of the shielding layer during wiring to maintain >60 dB crosstalk immunity. When replacing modules, always verify the A5 and C25 coding positions to prevent incorrect insertion into older base models.

FAQ

Q: What is the highest safety level that the 10105/2/1 module can achieve in redundant mode?
A: It supports AK1-6 levels, reaching AK6 in redundant mode.

Q: What are the accuracy and overall error of the A/D converter in the 10105/2/1 module?
A: It uses a 12-bit A/D converter (±1 LSB), with total error < 0.25%.

Q: What is the maximum voltage surge that the 10105/2/1 can withstand?
A: It withstands up to ±36 Vdc input.

Q: Is the input range of the 10105/2/1 module 0-4.1V? What about input impedance?
A: Yes, range is 0–4.1V, impedance >1 MΩ.

Q: What system software version is required for the 10105/2/1 module?
A: Version 500 or higher is required.
