Description
The MEC® 4.0 is the result of the continuous development of the HAVER electronic weighers in the seventh generation. So far more than 30,000 electronic units are operating on HAVER filling machines. The newly developed MEC® 4.0 is a modularly designed machine control system, customised to suit HAVER needs, with integrated PCT-approved weigher electronic system that can be calibrated.
Features
Control Hub: As the central unit of the MEC 4.0 series, it is equipped with digital input/output, an Ethernet switch, and a serial interface for communication with all peripherals.
Data Storage: All critical data and diagnostic information are centrally stored on a pluggable SD memory card, facilitating quick controller replacement without damaging the seals.
Software Architecture: Based on the CoDeSys (IEC 61131-3) programming environment, it offers high programmability and flexibility to adapt to complex production needs.
Hardware Parameters: Its input voltage is 24V DC, and both input/output current are 0.5A.

There is only a single operation for the machine and weighing system. Thanks to the new concept, the operator is quickly guided through the menu with little training. The single-button philosophy shortens the processes for starting and stopping production. The long-lasting, scratch-resistant glass surface offers a high level of operating time. The central display shows all weight values and operating conditions. Data transmission by radio communication assures maximum system reliability.
Modular Expansion
The MEC 4 system adopts a modular design, allowing the MCU to be used in conjunction with other components as needed:
WCM (Weighing Control Module): A high-precision analog-to-digital converter responsible for the acquisition and filtering of weighing signals.
DCU (Digital Control Unit): Can be directly mounted next to the MCU for expanding the connection points of digital sensors and actuators.
HMI (Human Machine Interface): Provides a 7-inch or 12-inch color touchscreen for human-machine interaction and real-time parameter adjustment.
