Description
IS2020RKPSG3A is a VME Rack Power Supply module developed by General Electric. It's one of the most common VME Rack Power Supply models. Each version has its own set of criteria for input and output. The component has a 400W output rating. The input voltage is rated at 125 Vdc. The module has a Status ID output, a remote +28V PSA output, and five additional +28V PSA outputs. The module is designed to fit into the right-hand VME control and interface racks.
Applications
Natural gas and steam turbine power plants: Used as standard power sources for GE Speedtronic systems to control large generator sets.
Energy management centers: Widely deployed in factories requiring high reliability and TMR (Triple Modular Redundancy) architecture.
Large industrial automated production lines: Used for large distributed control systems (DCS) requiring remote configuration and diagnostics.
Installation
Power Supply Placement: The power supply sits on the right of the VME rack. Bottom connections include DE input, 28 V DC, 335 V DC, and a status line (updated design). A cable harness connects to PSA and PSB at the top. Each 28 V DC module powers a rack segment labeled A–F. External devices can use P28C or PS28; move the jumper from Normal to Isolated to enable this.
Power Supply Removal:
Loosen the PSA/PSB captive fastener and remove the bracket assembly from the RPSM.
Unplug bottom connectors.
Loosen two front bracket bolts and slide the assembly forward, disconnecting four rear connectors.
Remove the four screws securing the RPSM to the bracket.
Power Supply Installation:
Mount the module on the sheet bracket and tighten four screws.
Slide the assembly onto the rack, connect rear connectors, and tighten front bolts.
Insert PSA/PSB rear tab into the top rear slot and mate connectors.
Tighten the PSA/PSB captive fastener and connect the bottom connectors.
Operation
There is only one user control, the power switch, and three status LED indications on the VME Rack power supply. The power switch controls the output voltages of the power supply from the front panel and acts as a fault reset when toggled. The yellow, red, and green LEDs indicate the input power condition, the presence of a malfunction, and normal operation
