Description
The IC697BEM731 is GE-Series 90-70 Bus Controller Module. This module is mainly used to interface with other modules and performs I/O scanning and data transfer to the CPU, initiate communication with the CPU, alarm reporting and link other devices such as the PCIM.

Installation
Installation should not be attempted without referring to the applicable PLC Installation Manual.
Make sure rack power is off.
Install in rack.
Turn on power.
The module should power up and blink the top LED for about 5 seconds. When the diagnostics have completed successfully the top LED stays. The middle LED is turned ON when a valid configuration for the module has been received from the CPU, and the IC66* I/O bus operation has been verified. The bottom LED is OFF under all conditions.
Removing the Module
Grasp the Board Firmly: Hold the module firmly at the top and bottom of the board cover. Use your thumbs to press on the front of the cover and your fingers on the plastic clips at the back.
Disengage Rack Clips: Squeeze the rack clips to disengage them from the rail. This action will loosen the board and allow you to remove it from the backplane connector.
Slide and Remove: Slide the board along the card guide and remove it completely from the rack, ensuring no damage to the connectors or the module itself.
