Description
The Flame Analysis Unit, or FAU810, is ABB’s latest leading-edge flame analysis device. The FAU810 is designed from the ground up for maximum flexibility, usability and reliability. It takes advantage of the latest technologies available to make flame analysis as cost-efficient as possible, while retaining ABB’s rock-solid reputation as the most reliable instruments in the industry. The FAU810 is easy to install and configure, flexible to operate, and uses redundant Profibus DP-V1 or standard Modbus interfaces for easy and safe data exchange and tuning.
Applications
Thermal power plants: Fire suppression and protection systems for main boilers.
Petrochemical plants: Monitoring the flame status of heating furnaces and reactors.
Iron and steel metallurgical plants: Combustion control for blast furnaces and industrial kilns.
Cement manufacturing plants: Flame detection for rotary kilns and precalciner furnaces.
Waste incineration plants: Real-time monitoring of stability under complex combustion environments.
Feature
Collects Signal Values from the Flame Detector
The FAU810 analyzes the signals generated from the Flame Detector.
Calculates Signal Quality
The FAU810 measures the quality of the signal to provide an indication of changes in the burner flame. Quality values act as a barometer, forecasting when a burner flame-out is likely to occur. This can help you to anticipate changes and problems.
Continuously Detect Faults
The instrument automatically monitors the electronic components of the Flame Detector and FAU810 unit to detect system problems or faults.
Signals Unsafe Conditions
A no-flame condition occurs when the FAU810 logic determines that an unsafe condition exists.
FAQ
Q: Can the FAU810 connect to two probes simultaneously?
A: Yes. It features dual-channel independent processing capabilities, supporting dual-probe input or multi-fuel flame analysis.
Q: How is the FAU810 module installed?
A: It uses a standard DIN rail mounting method, suitable for integration into various industrial control cabinets.
Q: What does a low signal quality value indicate in the FAU810?
A: It usually indicates unstable combustion or contaminated sensor lenses, requiring timely process inspection or equipment cleaning.
Q: Can the FAU810 replace the old FAU800?
A: Yes. It is an ideal retrofit solution, compatible with the wiring of the old system and improving analysis accuracy.
Q: Can the response time (FFRT) of the FAU810 be set manually?
A: Yes. It can be set as needed within the range of 0.2 to 4 seconds via panel buttons or debugging software.
