Description
The CP-EXPIO Expansion I/O Board by Honeywell is a versatile automation module designed for ComfortPoint Open plant controllers. The CP-EXPIO operates at 24 VAC ± 20%, 50/60 Hz, with a maximum power consumption of 15 VA, featuring LED power indication. It provides 4 digital outputs (Triac, 24 VAC, 30–500 mA), 6 potential-free digital inputs (also usable as 15 Hz pulse inputs for energy meter totalization), 6 analog outputs (0–10 Vdc, 8-bit), and 8 universal analog inputs supporting PT1000, NTC 20K, and 0/2–10 Vdc signals with 12-bit resolution. With onboard processing, the CP-EXPIO enables fast I/O scanning and mixed input/output operations. RS485 connectivity allows linking up to 15–16 expansion boards on a single CP-IO bus, while addressing is handled via onboard HEX switch (0–15). The board supports firmware upgrades through ComfortPoint Open Online and can be mounted on DIN-rail or walls. Operating temperature ranges from 0–50 °C and storage from -20–70 °C, making the CP-EXPIO suitable for industrial and building automation applications requiring reliable, high-speed I/O control.

Addressing
Addressing of CP-EXPIO is done via onboard HEX Switch.
The address can be between 1 through 15. For firmware 2.1 and later the address can be selected between 0 through 15.
Firmware Upgrade
Firmware on the CP-EXPIO can be easily upgraded using ComfortPoint Open Online.
