Description
The remote S900 I/O system can be installed in non-hazardous areas or directly in Zone 1 or Zone 2 hazardous area depending on the selected system variant. S900 I/O communicates with the control system level using the PROFIBUS DP standard. The I/O system can be installed directly in the field, therefore the costs for marshalling and wiring are reduced.
The system is sturdy, error-tolerant and easy to service. Integrated disconnection mechanisms allow replacement during operation, meaning that there is no need to interrupt the primary voltage in order to exchange the power supply units.
S900 I/O type N. For installation in safe (= non-hazardous) area.
AI930N 3KDE175513L9300 Analog Input (AI4H), input and power supply for 4...20 mA loop powered 2-wire transmitters.
Applications
Chemical Plants: Used to handle sensor signals in corrosive or flammable/explosive environments.
Oil Refineries/Gas Processing Plants: Widely used in upstream and downstream oil and gas production lines.
Pharmaceutical Plants: Suitable for pharmaceutical processes requiring precise analog signal monitoring (e.g., 4...20 mA signals) and HART communication.
Power Plants: Plays a role in power facilities requiring remote I/O distribution to reduce wiring costs.
Water Treatment Plants: Utilizes its G3 coating's corrosion-resistant properties to withstand humid and chemically treated environments.
Features and benefits
- Redundancy (Power and Communication)
- Hot Configuration in Run
- Hot Swap functionallity
- Extended Diagnostic
- Excellent configuration and diagnostics via FDT/DTM
- G3 – coating for all components
- Simplified maintenance with auto-diagnostics
-Power supply for 4...20 mA loop powered 2-wire transmitters
-Short and break detection
-Electrical isolation between input / bus and input / power
-Common return for all inputs
-4 channels
-Transmission of HART frames via the fieldbus
-Cyclic HART variables
Troubleshooting
HART Communication Failure: If HART data cannot be read, check if the loop impedance meets the requirements (typically between 230Ω and 600Ω).
Diagnostic Indication: The module provides short-circuit and open-circuit detection. Fault status is fed back to the control system (e.g., AC 800M) in real time via the bus.
Status Monitoring: Utilizing the S900's extended diagnostic functions, it can accurately identify whether the problem is a module hardware issue or an abnormal current value reported by an external instrument.
Maintenance
Hot Swap: Supports module replacement during system operation without affecting other channels.
Configuration Management: Supports HCIR (configuration modification during operation), allowing adjustment of channel ranges or HART mapping parameters without stopping the system.
Socket Compatibility: Must be installed in an S900 Type N socket. Due to its non-intrinsically safe characteristics, it is strictly forbidden to directly introduce its output lines into Zone 0/1 areas.
FAQ
Q: What is the AI930N 3KDE175513L9300?
A: It is a Analog Input Module.
Q: What is the difference between AI930N and AI930S?
A: AI930N is designed for Non-Ex safety zones and does not have intrinsic safety certification.
AI930S is intrinsically safe certified, suitable for installation in Zone 1, and can connect to intrinsically safe instruments in Zone 0/1.
Q: What are the main differences between AI930N and AI910N?
A: AI930N supports HART communication in addition to standard 4–20 mA signals, whereas AI910N only transmits standard 4–20 mA analog signals without HART functionality.
