Description
The 991-06-50-01-05 Thrust Transmitter is a 2-wire, loop-powered device designed for automation systems in centrifugal air compressors, pumps, motors, and fans. Accepting input from a 3300 NSv Proximity Probe and extension cable, 991-06-50-01-05 converts axial shaft movement into a 4 to 20 mA proportional signal for control system monitoring. The transmitter supports a full-scale axial range of ±0.6 mm, a linear output range of 0.25 to 1.65 mm, and a maximum loop resistance of 1,000 Ω at 35 Vdc.
991-06-50-01-05 operates from +12 to +35 Vdc, with 23 mA typical current draw, and provides a 10 kΩ output impedance for Prox Out, calibrated to a 10 MΩ load. The device includes integrated Proximitor Sensor functionality, non-interacting zero and span adjustments, a test input pin, and power-up inhibit circuitry. DIN-rail clips and bulkhead screw options allow easy mounting in machinery panels or enclosures. Rated for −35°C to +85°C operation and −51°C to +100°C storage, 991-06-50-01-05 delivers accurate thrust position signals in compact compressor installations and other automated machinery, enabling precise axial monitoring and loop-powered signal integration.
Applications
Monitor axial shaft position in centrifugal compressors
991-06-50-01-05 accepts input from a 3300 NSv Proximity Probe and converts axial movement into a 4 to 20 mA signal. With a full-scale range of ±0.6 mm and a linear output range of 0.25 to 1.65 mm, 991-06-50-01-05 allows automated machinery to track shaft thrust in real time for control and protection.
Provide thrust feedback to industrial control systems
Loop-powered from +12 to +35 Vdc with 23 mA typical current draw, 991-06-50-01-05 delivers a precise proportional signal to PLCs or DCS systems. The 10 kΩ Prox Out impedance ensures accurate signal transmission over cables up to 3 m from the sensor.
Enable dynamic diagnostics with Prox Out signals
The integrated Proximitor Sensor of 991-06-50-01-05 outputs gap voltage and vibration signals for analysis. This allows automated detection of axial shaft movement and quick verification of sensor function.
Simplify sensor installation in compact machinery
DIN-rail clips or bulkhead mounting options allow 991-06-50-01-05 to be installed in small control panels or tight compressor housings while maintaining correct loop connections and sensor alignment.
