Description
The 990-04-50-03-00 Vibration Transmitter is a high-precision, loop-powered device designed for industrial automation and machinery condition monitoring. It accepts input from a 3300 NSv Proximity Probe and its extension cable, converting vibration measurements into a standard 4–20 mA signal for integration with machinery control systems. Capable of measuring vibration amplitudes from 0.25 to 1.65 mm (10 to 65 mils) linearly, the transmitter ensures accurate peak-to-peak vibration feedback in centrifugal compressors, small pumps, motors, and fans. Operating reliably across a temperature range of -35°C to +85°C (-31°F to +185°F), and with maximum loop resistance of 1,000 Ω, it delivers stable, real-time data to support automation, machinery protection, and predictive maintenance. The device features integrated Proximitor Sensor electronics, non-interacting zero and span adjustments, and diagnostic outputs via coaxial or PROX OUT terminals. DIN-rail or bulkhead mounting options, combined with potted construction for high humidity tolerance, make it suitable for compact industrial environments with limited installation space.
Applications
Vibration Monitoring in Centrifugal Compressors
The 990 transmitter converts high-resolution vibration from 3300 NSv probes into a 4–20 mA signal for machinery control systems, allowing automated alerts for misalignment, imbalance, or bearing wear.
Small Pump and Fan Condition Monitoring
Provides continuous vibration feedback in small pumps and fans, enabling predictive maintenance and preventing unplanned downtime in automated fluid-handling systems.
Integration with Automation Control Systems
Outputs a standard 4–20 mA proportional signal compatible with PLCs, DCS, and SCADA, enabling seamless integration into automated industrial monitoring networks.
High-Temperature Industrial Environments
Operating from -35°C to +85°C, the 990 transmitter withstands typical process plant conditions while maintaining accurate vibration and position measurements for critical assets.
Compact Machinery Installations
Designed for low-clearance applications, the device works with 3300 NSv probes in tight spaces, providing reliable vibration monitoring in compact or crowded machinery layouts.

Competitive Advantage
Loop-Powered Simplicity
Two-wire design with 12–35 Vdc input allows easy installation and integration into existing control loops without requiring additional power supplies.
Accurate Peak-to-Peak Vibration Measurement
Supports vibration linear range of 0.25–1.65 mm (10–65 mils) with output impedance of 10 kΩ, ensuring precise vibration readings for machinery protection and automation logic.
Integrated Diagnostics and Protection
Non-interacting zero/span adjustments, test input pin, and Not OK/Signal Defeat circuit prevent false alarms from faulty probes or loose connections, improving system reliability.
Flexible Mounting Options
DIN-rail clips or bulkhead mounting screws provide installation flexibility, enabling quick integration in OEM machinery or retrofitted automation systems.
Compact and Environmentally Robust
Potted construction and high humidity tolerance allow reliable operation in harsh industrial environments, supporting vibration monitoring in tight or humid installations.
