Description
5501-376 is a Analog I/O Module developed by Woodward. The circuitry in the High Density Analog I/O module supports four speed sensor inputs, eight analog inputs, four analog outputs, and two proportional actuator driver outputs. In a simplex system, either Analog Combo module is connected to one Analog Combo FTM via two analog cables.
Applications
Thermal Power Plants: Monitors turbine and generator speed signals to detect overspeed and frequency anomalies.
Wind Power Equipment Manufacturing: Ensures real-time monitoring of gearbox and blade speed for fast braking control response.
Aerospace Engine Testing: Captures high-frequency turbine pulses and vibration signals in test bench systems.
Automotive Powertrain Manufacturing: Provides precise signal conditioning for engine and transmission test bench sensors.
Installation
The modules are inserted into chassis card guides and connected to the motherboard. They are secured with two front-panel screws (top and bottom). Handles allow safe extraction by sliding the module outward to disengage connectors.
Analog Combo Modules are available in two configurations with 4–20 mA or 0–5 V input settings. In simplex systems, each module connects to one Analog Combo FTM via two low-density analog cables. All I/O channels are mapped to corresponding software locations for easy identification.
