Description
The 3300 XL 8 mm Proximity Probe (model 330101-00-43-15-02-05) is a high-precision eddy current transducer designed for advanced industrial automation and vibration monitoring applications. With a total length of 1.5 meters (4.9 feet) and a robust 3/8-24 UNF threaded probe case, the sensor accurately measures both static positions and dynamic vibrations of conductive surfaces. Its linear output is directly proportional to the gap between the probe tip and the target, providing reliable measurement for fluid-film bearing machines, rotating shafts, and other high-speed equipment.
The probe features a miniature coaxial ClickLoc connector and standard cable, with an optional FluidLoc design to prevent oil or liquid leakage from the machine. Engineered for harsh industrial environments, it operates across a wide temperature range of -52°C to +177°C (-62°F to +350°F) while maintaining a supply sensitivity of less than 2 mV per volt change in input. Its patented TipLoc and CableLoc designs ensure mechanical robustness, providing 330 N (75 lbf) pull strength and secure attachment between probe tip and cable. Fully compatible with non-XL 3300 series 5 mm and 8 mm systems, this probe supports system upgrades without the need for bench calibration, making it ideal for automated monitoring and predictive maintenance in complex industrial setups.
Applications
Vibration Monitoring of Fluid-Film Bearings
Measures high-frequency vibration in fluid-film bearing machines, detecting imbalance, misalignment, or wear to enable automated predictive maintenance.
Rotating Shaft Position Measurement
Provides precise static and dynamic radial and axial position readings for rotating shafts, improving real-time control and monitoring of compressors and turbines.
Keyphasor Reference Signal Generation
Delivers accurate Keyphasor signals for phase reference, supporting automated machinery diagnostics, speed measurement, and rotational analysis in industrial automation systems.
High-Temperature Industrial Environments
Operates reliably from -52°C to +177°C (-62°F to +350°F), making it suitable for applications in petrochemical, power generation, and high-heat industrial processes.
Small-Space Mounting Applications
With a compact 8 mm probe diameter, it can be installed where standard probes are too large, enabling accurate measurements in constrained mounting areas.
