Description
The 330101-00-40-20-12-05 3300 XL 8 mm Proximity Probe is a high-performance eddy current transducer engineered for industrial automation, predictive maintenance, and machinery condition monitoring. This 3300 XL 8 mm probe generates a voltage output directly proportional to the distance between the probe tip and conductive surfaces, enabling both static position measurements and dynamic vibration analysis in rotating equipment. Designed for fluid-film bearings, turbines, compressors, and pumps, it ensures accurate monitoring in automated control systems.
Constructed with a 3/8-24 UNF threaded case with an overall length of 4.0 inches and paired with a 2.0-meter FluidLoc cable, the probe maintains mechanical and signal integrity while preventing fluid ingress. The Miniature coaxial ClickLoc connector provides secure, vibration-resistant connections, and the TipLoc and CableLoc design ensures up to 330 N pull strength, improving durability in automated machinery. The probe operates across extreme temperatures from -52°C to +177°C (-62°F to +350°F), with 50 Ω output resistance, 69.9 pF/m cable capacitance, and less than 2 mV/V supply sensitivity, ensuring stable and precise readings. Compliant with CSA, ATEX, and IECEx standards, the 3300 XL 8 mm probe also meets API 670 requirements for linearity, mechanical configuration, and temperature stability. Fully backward compatible with existing 3300 series probes, extension cables, and Proximitor sensors, it integrates seamlessly into automated monitoring networks.
Applications
Application 1: Rotating Machinery Vibration Monitoring
The 3300 XL 8 mm probe provides precise radial vibration measurements on turbines, pumps, and compressors. Its 2 mm linear range enables early detection of shaft imbalance, supporting automated predictive maintenance.
Application 2: Axial Shaft Position Detection
Accurate measurement of axial shaft displacement in fluid-film bearing systems allows automated adjustment of thrust and operational parameters, reducing wear and improving equipment lifespan.
Application 3: Keyphasor Phase Reference Integration
Used as a Keyphasor sensor, the probe provides high-resolution phase reference signals for rotational speed measurement, enabling real-time automated diagnostics.
Application 4: Automated Overspeed Monitoring
The probe outputs reliable rotational speed signals to integrated overspeed protection systems, ensuring automated safety and machinery shutdown during extreme conditions.
Application 5: Predictive Maintenance in Industrial Automation
Continuous monitoring of vibration and position integrates with automated predictive maintenance platforms, reducing unplanned downtime and optimizing service intervals across industrial plants.
