Description

The DO802 3BSE022364R1 is an 8 channel 110 V d.c./250 V a.c. relay (NO) output module for the S800 I/O. The maximum voltage range is 250 V and the maximum continuous output current is 2 A. All outputs are individually isolated. Each output channel consists of optical isolation barrier, output state indication LED, relay driver, relay and EMC protection components.

The relay supply voltage supervision, derived from the 24 V distributed on the ModuleBus, gives a channel signal error and a module warning signal if the voltage disappears. The error signal and warning signal can be read through the ModuleBus. This supervision can be enabled/disabled with a parameter.

Applications

Petrochemical and Refinery Plants:

Used to drive large pneumatic shut-off valves (ESD valves) or high-power solenoid valves. Due to complete isolation between channels, even if a valve coil is short-circuited or grounded in the field, it will not interfere with the operation of other critical channels.

Large Metallurgical and Steel Rolling Mills:

Controls large proportional valves or brake contactors in hydraulic stations. These devices have high starting currents, and the DO802 3BSE022364R1's 2A output capacity can directly drive them without the need for additional intermediate relays.

Power and Energy Plants (Substation Monitoring):

In environments with extremely strong electromagnetic interference, independent isolation groups can effectively block common-mode interference, ensuring the absolute accuracy of control commands (such as circuit breaker opening and closing).

Troubleshooting

Common Faults:

Fault light on (red): May indicate internal self-test failure, overheat protection triggering, or backplane communication loss.

No voltage in channel: Check the external L+ independent power supply for that channel. Each DO802 module requires power to operate.

Maintenance Recommendations:

Heat monitoring: Due to its support for 2A high current, it generates significant heat under full load; ensure good rack ventilation.

Hot-swapping: Power can be applied when replacing modules, but ensure the new module is fully engaged with the base latches.

FAQ

Q1: Can the DO802 3BSE022364R1 be connected to a 220V AC load?
A: No. It only supports 24V DC. To drive AC 220V, an intermediate relay is still required.

Q2: Are DO802 3BSE022364R1 interchangeable with the DO801?
A: Physically, they are not interchangeable. The DO801 has 16 channels with common ground, while the DO802 3BSE022364R1 has 8 channels with independent isolation. The mounting bases (TU810 vs TU811) are also different.

Q3: Why is my DO802 3BSE022364R1 output LED lit, but I can't detect 24V?
A: The most common reason is that an external L+ power supply is not connected to the mounting terminal of that channel. The DO802 3BSE022364R1 itself only functions as a switch.
