Description
The UR 7HH UR7HH is a high-performance communication module designed specifically for the Universal Relay (UR) series of protective relays. As the core link for intelligent interaction between relays, this module enables high-speed peer-to-peer transmission of critical protection logic and control signals. By integrating advanced photoelectric conversion technology, the UR 7HH UR7HH can support multiple independent fiber optic communication tasks, significantly improving the collaborative working capabilities within substation automation systems.
Applications
Thermal Power Plants: Enables relay interlocking and synchronous fault tripping for generator protection.
Petrochemical Plants: Supports coordinated protection communication through fiber optic networks.
Rail Transit Power Plants: Connects traction substation protection units for rapid fault clearing.
Steel Plants: Ensures reliable communication in dusty and high magnetic field environments.
Features
COMMS module for UR Series Multilin Universal Relay Systems
Inter-relay communication using 820 nm multimode LED
Dual communication channels for high-speed data exchange
Integrated communication switch for system networking
Supports IEC Process Bus for substation automation
High-speed inter-relay communication capability
Software Details
The Universal Relays series is able to display data generated from module activity and display it to the user passively through the LED located on the unit’s faceplate or more effectively through a computer connected to the relay running Multilin’s EnerVista software program. The EnerVista software program provides a streamlined user interface for monitoring channel health and trending and exporting data related to ongoing interrelay communications. EnerVista UR has extremely light hardware requirements, making implementation of the program convenient and inexpensive.
FAQ
Q: What physical transmission medium does the UR 7HH UR7HH module primarily support?
A: It is designed for multi-mode fiber optic cabling, suitable for short- to medium-distance inter-relay communication.
Q: What wavelength does the UR 7HH UR7HH use for data transmission?
A: It operates at 820 nm, enabling efficient optical signal conversion in a multi-mode system.
Q: Why does the UR 7HH UR7HH have two independent communication channels?
A: The dual channels support complex relay logic and provide redundant communication paths.
Q: What is the cost advantage of the UR 7HH UR7HH multi-mode solution?
A: Multi-mode fiber is more cost-effective than single-mode, making it suitable for large-scale deployments.
Q: What limitation should be considered when using the UR 7HH UR7HH for long-distance transmission?
A: Multi-mode fiber has higher signal attenuation, so distance must be carefully designed.
