Description
The 990-10-50-01-05 Vibration Transmitter is a compact, loop-powered vibration transmitter designed for industrial automation systems requiring reliable machinery condition feedback. Engineered to work directly with a 3300 NSv proximity probe, this vibration transmitter converts peak-to-peak vibration displacement into a stable 4–20 mA output for PLC, DCS, or SCADA integration. With a full-scale range of 0–10 mils pp (0–250 μm pp) and a linear measurement window from 0.25 to 1.65 mm, the 990 vibration transmitter delivers accurate vibration monitoring for rotating equipment such as pumps, motors, and compressors. Its DIN-rail mounting option and wide operating temperature range from -35°C to +85°C make this vibration transmitter suitable for harsh automation environments. Certified for CSA Division 2 and ATEX Zone 0 and Zone 2 applications, the 990-10-50-01-05 vibration transmitter supports OEM machinery protection strategies while reducing system complexity through its integrated signal conditioning and diagnostics-friendly Prox Out interface.
Applications
Application 1 Centrifugal Air Compressor Monitoring
In centrifugal air compressor automation systems, the 990-10-50-01-05 vibration transmitter provides continuous vibration feedback up to 250 μm pp. The 4–20 mA signal allows compressor control logic to trigger alarms when vibration exceeds preset thresholds, improving uptime and preventing bearing damage.
Application 2 Industrial Pump Condition Monitoring
For small and medium industrial pumps, this vibration transmitter monitors shaft displacement within a 0.25–1.65 mm linear range. When connected to a PLC analog input, it enables predictive maintenance by detecting imbalance or misalignment before mechanical failure occurs.
Application 3 Electric Motor Protection Systems
The 990 vibration transmitter is widely used in motor-driven automation systems where loop-powered sensors are preferred. With a maximum loop resistance of 1,000 Ω at 35 Vdc, it supports long cable runs while delivering stable vibration data for motor health assessment.
Application 4 Cooling Fan and Blower Automation
In cooling fans and blowers, excessive vibration often indicates blade wear or bearing degradation. This vibration transmitter supplies a proportional output that automation systems use to initiate controlled shutdowns when vibration trends exceed acceptable limits.
Application 5 Marine and Offshore Machinery Monitoring
With ABS maritime approval and operation up to +85°C, the 990-10-50-01-05 vibration transmitter is suitable for marine compressors and auxiliary equipment. Its sealed, potted construction ensures reliable vibration measurement even in high-humidity, condensing environments.

Competitive Advantage
Competitive Advantage 1 Integrated Signal Conditioning
Unlike traditional vibration monitoring solutions, the 990 vibration transmitter integrates Proximitor Sensor functionality internally, eliminating the need for external signal conditioners and reducing cabinet space by up to 30 percent.
Competitive Advantage 2 Wide Hazardous Area Certification
The CSA Division 2 and ATEX Zone 0 and Zone 2 approvals allow this vibration transmitter to be deployed across multiple hazardous automation zones without redesigning the instrumentation architecture.
Competitive Advantage 3 Stable Loop-Powered Design
Operating on +12 to +35 Vdc with a typical current limit of 23 mA, the vibration transmitter ensures reliable operation in two-wire control loops, minimizing power consumption while maintaining signal integrity.
Competitive Advantage 4 Diagnostic-Friendly Output Interface
The Prox Out BNC connector with a 10 kΩ output impedance supports dynamic vibration diagnostics over distances up to 3 meters, enabling technicians to perform on-site analysis without interrupting the control loop.
Competitive Advantage 5 Compact Installation Flexibility
With 35 mm DIN-rail clips and a standard 5.0-meter system length, the 990-10-50-01-05 vibration transmitter simplifies installation in OEM skids and compact machinery, reducing installation time and overall automation costs.
