Description
The 990-05-XX-01-00 MOD 147202-01 Vibration Transmitter is a high-performance, loop-powered device engineered for industrial automation and machinery protection systems. Designed primarily for OEM applications in centrifugal air compressors, small motors, pumps, and fans, this vibration transmitter accepts input from the 3300 NSv Proximity Probe and its compatible extension cable, available in 5-meter and 7-meter lengths. It converts the probe signal into a precise peak-to-peak vibration amplitude measurement (0-5 mils pp / 0-125 μm pp) and provides a proportional 4 to 20 mA output suitable for integration into modern machinery control systems. Operating reliably across extreme temperatures from -35°C to +85°C (-31°F to +185°F) and with storage tolerance up to -52°C to +100°C (-62°F to +212°F), the 990 Transmitter ensures accurate, continuous vibration monitoring under challenging industrial conditions. Its compact, DIN-rail or bulkhead mountable design simplifies installation in tight spaces, while potted construction guarantees protection in high-humidity environments. Key features include integrated Proximitor Sensor functionality, non-isolated PROX OUT and COM terminals for dynamic vibration diagnostics, non-interacting zero and span adjustment potentiometers, a Test Input pin for rapid signal verification, and a Not OK/Signal Defeat circuit to prevent false alarms. With a maximum loop resistance of 1,000 Ω at 35 Vdc and linear range of 0.25–1.65 mm (10–65 mils), the transmitter provides robust, dependable performance in automated vibration monitoring systems.
Applications
1. Centrifugal Air Compressor Monitoring
The transmitter delivers accurate 4–20 mA vibration signals to the compressor control system, enabling real-time fault detection and predictive maintenance. Typical peak-to-peak vibration measurement: 0-125 μm.
2. Small Pump and Motor Vibration Control
Ideal for monitoring small industrial pumps and motors, providing continuous vibration amplitude feedback to avoid mechanical failure, with loop-powered input voltage of 12–35 Vdc.
3. Fan and Blower Protection Systems
Integrated with proximity probes, the 990 ensures precise vibration tracking in HVAC and industrial fan systems, reducing unscheduled downtime and improving equipment reliability.
4. OEM Machinery Automation Integration
The transmitter outputs standardized 4–20 mA signals compatible with PLCs and DCS systems, allowing seamless integration into OEM automation and control architectures.
5. High-Humidity Industrial Environments
Potted construction and DIN-rail mounting ensure the device maintains accurate vibration measurements in environments with 100% condensing humidity, such as chemical processing plants.
