Description
The 81546-01 is a dual-channel XDCR I/O and Record Terminal designed for the Bently Nevada 3300 Series Monitoring System used in automated machinery protection. The 81546-01 connects through screw terminals and supports 2 DC Linear Variable Differential Transformers LVDTs to measure casing growth relative to the machine foundation. With 2 independent channels, the 81546-01 performs continuous casing expansion and differential expansion monitoring. Two digitally adjustable alarm setpoints allow precise configuration of upper and lower expansion thresholds. The 81546-01 supports independent channel display or differential display modes, enabling operators to compare expansion magnitude and direction. Integrated into turbine automation systems, the 81546-01 delivers real-time axial position data for thrust bearing protection, vibration tracking, temperature, pressure, and overspeed signal routing within the 3300 rack architecture.
Applications
Power Generation: Steam Turbine and Generator Monitoring: As part of the Turbine Monitoring Instrumentation (TSI), it receives signals from displacement or vibration sensors and triggers a shutdown protection circuit via a sealed relay when a critical risk (such as rotor contact or axial deviation) is detected.
Nuclear Power and High-Temperature/High-Pressure Plants: Due to its fully sealed relays, this module offers higher reliability in environments containing corrosive gases or high humidity, and is commonly used for monitoring auxiliary rotating equipment in nuclear power plants.
Oil & Gas: Explosion-Proof and Hazardous Area Applications: Compliant with API 670 standards, it is commonly installed in cabinets in refineries and natural gas liquefaction (LNG) plants to monitor centrifugal compressors and expanders. The sealed design effectively isolates the relay contacts from external environmental influences.
Offshore Drilling Platforms: Its robust design is suitable for the high-salt-spray, high-vibration offshore production environment.
Petrochemicals: Monitor large power equipment (such as extruders and reactor main pumps) to ensure that the operating data of mechanical bearings and seals can be transmitted to the control room in real time during complex processes under high temperature and high pressure.
