Description
The 330902-00-10-10-02-05 3300 NSv Proximity Probe is a high-precision eddy current sensor designed for compact automation systems, centrifugal compressors, and tight installation machinery. With a 1.0-inch overall case length, 0.0 in unthreaded tip, and a 1/4-28 UNF threaded probe, this probe excels in measuring radial and axial vibrations on small shafts below 51 mm (2 in) and flat targets smaller than 15 mm (0.6 in). Its 1.5 mm linear range (60 mils) and recommended gap of 1.0 mm (40 mils) ensure accurate position and vibration readings in restricted spaces where standard 3300 XL probes cannot fit.
The probe features a Miniature coaxial ClickLoc connector with standard cable, supporting stable output with less than 2 mV variation per volt of supply change. Constructed from AISI 304 stainless steel case and polyphenylene sulfide (PPS) tip, the probe resists chemicals and high temperatures, operating reliably from -52°C to +177°C (-62°F to +351°F). Its mechanical and electrical compatibility with 3300 RAM and prior 3300/3000-series systems allows straightforward system upgrades while maintaining existing monitoring infrastructure. The patented TipLoc molding and CableLoc design deliver secure probe tip attachment with 220 N pull strength, while connector protectors safeguard the system from fluid ingress. The NSv system’s Average Scale Factor of 7.87 V/mm (200 mV/mil) provides a consistent, high-fidelity signal output for automation and predictive maintenance applications.
Applications
Application 1: Centrifugal Air Compressor Vibration Monitoring
Measures radial vibration on small shafts (<51 mm), detecting imbalances or misalignments early to prevent downtime and extend compressor lifespan by up to 15%.
Application 2: Axial Position Measurement on Flat Targets
Accurately monitors thrust bearing axial position on small surfaces (<15 mm), enabling precise alignment in process gas compressors and other tight-space machinery.
Application 3: Tachometer and Zero-Speed Detection
Generates reliable speed and zero-speed signals for control systems, supporting automated startup and shutdown sequences in compact machines.
Application 4: Phase Reference (Keyphasor) Generation
Provides phase reference signals for vibration analysis and synchronization of rotating machinery, critical for predictive maintenance and automation.
Application 5: Retrofits and Upgrades
Easily replaces 3300 RAM or 3000/7000-series 190 probes, allowing system upgrades without full rewiring while enhancing chemical resistance and side-view access.
