Description
The 3300 NSv Proximity Probe (330901-00-19-10-02-00) is a high-precision non-contacting eddy current transducer engineered for industrial automation and rotating machinery applications. It is designed to accurately measure vibration, displacement, and position on fluid-film bearing machines and other critical equipment. With a linear range of 1.5 mm (60 mils) and a recommended gap setting of 1.0 mm (40 mils), the probe delivers highly reliable and repeatable measurements essential for predictive maintenance and process optimization.
Constructed from AISI 304 stainless steel with a Polyphenylene sulfide (PPS) probe tip, the 3300 NSv probe provides exceptional durability and chemical resistance in harsh environments. It features a 1/4-28 UNF threaded case with a maximum thread engagement of 0.375 in, an overall case length of 1.9 in, and a cable length of 1.0 meter (39 in) with Miniature coaxial ClickLoc connectors for secure, vibration-resistant connections. The probe operates in extreme conditions, from -52°C to +177°C (-62°F to +351°F), and supports field wiring from 0.2 to 1.5 mm². Electrical performance includes 50 Ω output resistance and less than 2 mV change in output per volt variation in supply, ensuring high signal fidelity.
The probe incorporates a patented TipLoc molding method for a robust bond between the probe tip and body, and a CableLoc design that allows a 330 N (75 lb) pull strength, securing the probe cable against accidental disconnection. Optional FluidLoc cable systems prevent oil or other fluids from leaking through the probe cable, and connector protectors enhance performance in humid or moist environments. The NSv probe is fully compatible with 3300 NSv transducer systems, allowing seamless integration into existing monitoring setups.
Applications
Axial (Thrust) Position Monitoring
The 3300 NSv probe provides accurate axial displacement measurements in turbines and compressors, enabling precise thrust load monitoring and shaft alignment with ±0.01 mm resolution.
Vibration Monitoring on Fluid-Film Bearings
It captures dynamic shaft vibrations for fluid-film bearing machinery, offering early detection of imbalance, misalignment, or bearing wear to prevent unplanned downtime.
Rod Position and Rod Drop Detection
In reciprocating compressors, the probe tracks rod position and potential rod drop, supporting predictive maintenance and avoiding costly mechanical failures.
Tachometer and Zero-Speed Detection
The NSv probe generates precise rotational speed and zero-speed signals, ensuring safe start-up, shutdown, and automated control of high-speed machinery.
Phase Reference Signals (Keyphasor)
It produces reliable Keyphasor signals for phase reference, facilitating vibration spectrum analysis, rotor imbalance detection, and condition-based monitoring.
