Description
The 330881-28-04-080-03-02 PROXPAC XL Proximity Transducer is an advanced, self-contained 3300 XL 8 mm proximity transducer system designed for precision vibration and position monitoring in automated industrial machinery. This assembly integrates the Proximitor sensor directly into its PPS thermoplastic housing, eliminating the need for separate Proximitor units or extension cables. The housing, constructed from high-strength, glass-reinforced Polyphenylene Sulfide (PPS), ensures IP66 and Type 4X protection, providing superior resistance against harsh industrial environments, electrostatic discharge, and chemical exposure. Featuring a 40 mm standoff adapter and 80 mm probe penetration, the PROXPAC XL assembly delivers highly accurate measurements over a linear range of 2 mm (80 mils), with less than 2 mV sensitivity change per volt of input. It supports shaft diameters from 50.8 mm minimum to 76.2 mm recommended, while field wiring accommodates 16–24 AWG connections. The assembly’s modular design enables external probe access for calibration or replacement without disassembling the machine, making it ideal for automated machinery diagnostics and predictive maintenance.
Applications
Application 1: Automated Vibration Monitoring
Used on high-speed rotating machinery such as turbines and pumps, the PROXPAC XL provides precise vibration readings directly to control systems, enabling automated monitoring for preventive maintenance.
Application 2: Shaft Position Measurement
Measures dynamic and static shaft positions in fluid-film bearings with a linear range of 2 mm, supporting automated feedback loops in speed and position control systems.
Application 3: Hazardous Area Machine Diagnostics
Equipped with multiple approvals and a robust PPS housing rated for IP66 and Type 4X, the transducer can be safely installed in corrosive or explosive environments, such as chemical plants or refineries.
Application 4: Reduced Wiring Complexity in Automation Systems
By integrating the Proximitor sensor into the housing, the PROXPAC XL eliminates extension cables and separate sensor housings, simplifying wiring and reducing installation time in automated setups.
Application 5: Predictive Maintenance and Machine Health Analytics
Provides continuous, high-resolution output for automated diagnostic systems, allowing predictive algorithms to detect early-stage mechanical faults and optimize machine uptime.
