Description
The 330881-16-00-060-01-02 PROXPAC XL Proximity Transducer is a fully integrated, self-contained eddy current transducer system designed for high-precision monitoring of rotating machinery in industrial automation applications. This assembly incorporates a 3300 XL 8 mm Proximitor sensor directly within its PPS (Polyphenylene Sulfide) housing, eliminating the need for separate extension cables or Proximitor housings. The robust PPS housing, reinforced with glass and conductive fibers, offers IP66 protection and Type 4X environmental rating, ensuring reliable operation in harsh environments, including high humidity, dust, and corrosive conditions. The transducer provides a linear output over 2 mm (80 mils) with a recommended 1.27 mm (50 mils) gap and operates on shafts from 50.8 mm to 76.2 mm (2–3 in) in diameter. It maintains output stability (<2 mV change per volt of supply variation) and a 50 Ω output resistance, making it fully compatible with standard monitoring systems. Operating temperatures range from -52°C to +100°C, and the assembly supports direct field wiring for simplified installation. The PROXPAC XL system is ideal for fluid-film bearing machines, compressors, turbines, and other rotating equipment requiring precise position, vibration, and speed monitoring.
Applications
1. Turbomachinery Monitoring
Monitors rotor vibration and shaft position in turbines, compressors, and generators, providing critical data for predictive maintenance and reducing unplanned downtime.
2. Oil & Gas Compressors
Supports inline shaft position and vibration measurements in gas and process compressors, ensuring compliance with operational safety standards.
3. High-Speed Shaft Applications
Ideal for rotating shafts 50.8 mm to 76.2 mm in diameter, enabling accurate measurements in tight or confined installation spaces.
4. Harsh Environment Installations
Operates reliably in IP66-rated environments, including high-humidity, dusty, or chemically aggressive settings, common in refineries and offshore platforms.
5. Self-Contained Vibration Systems
Eliminates the need for separate Proximitor sensors or extension cables, simplifying automation system integration and reducing installation complexity.
