Description

The 330705-02-18-10-02-00 3300 XL 11 mm Reverse Mount Probe is a high-precision eddy current proximity probe designed for advanced industrial automation and rotating machinery protection systems. As part of the 3300 XL 11 mm Proximity Transducer System, this reverse mount probe delivers a calibrated output sensitivity of 3.94 V/mm (100 mV/mil), enabling accurate non-contact vibration and displacement measurements on critical fluid film bearing machines.
With its 11 mm probe tip, the 3300 XL reverse mount probe provides a longer linear measurement range than standard 8 mm probes, making it ideal for axial position, differential expansion, and rod position monitoring. The probe features a 3/8-24 UNF reverse mount thread, a 1.0 meter FEP-insulated 75 Ω triaxial cable, and a Miniature ClickLoc coaxial connector, ensuring secure signal transmission and stable performance in harsh industrial environments.
Designed for seamless integration with modern automation monitoring systems, the 3300 XL 11 mm Reverse Mount Probe supports reliable machinery diagnostics, predictive maintenance strategies, and long-term equipment reliability in power generation, oil and gas, petrochemical, and heavy industrial automation applications.

Applications

Application 1: Axial Thrust Position Monitoring in Steam Turbines

In large steam turbines, axial thrust movement must be controlled within tight tolerances to prevent bearing damage. The 3.94 V/mm output sensitivity and extended linear range of the 3300 XL 11 mm reverse mount probe allow precise thrust position measurement over larger axial displacements, improving turbine protection accuracy in automation control systems.

Application 2: Differential Expansion Measurement During Turbine Startup

Thermal growth during turbine startup can exceed the linear range of smaller probes. The 11 mm probe tip supports longer displacement measurement, enabling accurate ramp differential expansion monitoring and reducing false alarms in automated turbine supervision systems.

Application 3: Rod Position and Rod Drop Monitoring in Reciprocating Compressors

In compressor automation, rod position deviations of less than 0.1 mm can indicate early mechanical faults. The low supply sensitivity (<2 mV/V) ensures stable readings despite power fluctuations, supporting reliable rod drop detection and compressor health diagnostics.

Application 4: Tachometer and Zero Speed Detection

When configured for speed reference applications, the probe’s 50 Ω output resistance and stable signal characteristics enable consistent tachometer and zero-speed measurements, enhancing machine start-stop logic and automated safety interlocks.

Application 5: Phase Reference (Keyphasor) Signal Generation

The reverse mount design and secure ClickLoc connector provide vibration-resistant installation, making the probe suitable for phase reference signal generation in high-speed rotating machinery used in automated vibration analysis systems.

Competitive Advantage

Competitive Advantage 1: Extended Linear Range with 11 mm Probe Tip

Compared to standard 8 mm probes, the 3300 XL 11 mm reverse mount probe offers a significantly longer linear range, allowing accurate displacement measurement in applications where axial movement exceeds several millimeters, reducing the need for sensor repositioning.

Competitive Advantage 2: High Temperature and Environmental Tolerance

With an operating and storage temperature range of -52°C to +177°C, combined with optional AISI 302 stainless steel armor, the probe maintains signal integrity in high-temperature, high-vibration industrial automation environments.

Competitive Advantage 3: Superior Signal Stability and Power Immunity

The probe’s supply sensitivity of less than 2 mV per volt minimizes output drift caused by power supply variations, ensuring consistent data quality for automation monitoring and control algorithms.

Competitive Advantage 4: Secure Mechanical and Electrical Connection Design

The Miniature ClickLoc coaxial connector and patented CableLoc design provide up to 330 N (75 lb) pull strength, significantly reducing the risk of signal loss due to cable movement in heavy machinery installations.

Competitive Advantage 5: Seamless Integration with Modern Automation Systems

Designed to replace legacy 7200-series transducer systems, the 3300 XL 11 mm reverse mount probe supports upgraded monitoring platforms, enabling automation system modernization while improving measurement accuracy and long-term reliability.
