Description
The 330180-X1-05 MOD:145004-67 3300 XL Proximitor Sensor is a high-accuracy signal conditioning device designed for industrial automation, machinery protection, and continuous condition monitoring systems. As a core component of the 3300 XL proximity transducer system, this Proximitor sensor converts raw eddy current signals from compatible 3300-series 5 mm probes and 3300 XL 8 mm proximity probes into a standardized, stable output suitable for PLC, DCS, and vibration monitoring platforms.
Engineered for demanding automation environments, the 330180-X1-05 Proximitor Sensor supports a 1.0 meter system length and panel-mount installation, enabling flexible integration into control cabinets and high-density instrumentation panels. Powered by a -17.5 Vdc to -26 Vdc supply, the sensor delivers highly stable performance with supply sensitivity below 2 mV/V, ensuring accurate displacement and vibration data even under fluctuating power conditions. The 50 Ω output resistance and wide frequency response from 0 to 10 kHz allow precise measurement of both low-frequency shaft position and high-frequency vibration signals across long field wiring distances of up to 305 meters.
Constructed with a durable A308 aluminum housing, the 3300 XL Proximitor Sensor is suitable for harsh industrial environments. It operates reliably within a temperature range of -52°C to +100°C, while maintaining storage stability up to +105°C. With CSA, ATEX, and IECEx approvals, this Proximitor sensor is fully qualified for hazardous-area automation applications such as oil & gas, petrochemical processing, and power generation. Enhanced RFI and EMI immunity ensures stable signal transmission even in electrically noisy automation systems, reducing installation complexity and long-term maintenance costs.
Applications
Application 1: Turbine Shaft Vibration Monitoring
The 330180-X1-05 3300 XL Proximitor Sensor conditions vibration signals from 8 mm proximity probes with a 0–10 kHz frequency response, enabling accurate detection of shaft vibration in steam and gas turbines. Stable output over long cable runs up to 305 m supports centralized turbine protection systems.
Application 2: Axial Position Measurement in Compressors
In centrifugal and axial compressors, the sensor processes displacement signals from proximity probes to monitor axial thrust position. With less than 2 mV/V supply sensitivity, the sensor ensures precise position feedback for automated trip and alarm logic.
Application 3: Hazardous Area Machinery Protection Systems
Certified for ATEX and IECEx, this Proximitor sensor is widely deployed in explosive environments. It delivers reliable vibration and position data to machinery protection systems in refineries and offshore platforms, improving operational safety.
Application 4: Keyphasor and Speed Reference Processing
The wide dynamic response of the 3300 XL Proximitor Sensor supports Keyphasor inputs used for rotational speed and phase reference. Accurate signal conditioning improves speed calculation accuracy in high-speed rotating machinery.
Application 5: Predictive Maintenance in Industrial Automation
Integrated into condition monitoring systems, the sensor provides high-fidelity vibration data used for trend analysis. Early fault detection based on accurate displacement measurement reduces unplanned downtime in automated process plants.
