Description
The 330104-00-06-05-02-CN 3300 XL 8 mm Proximity Probes are high-accuracy eddy current displacement sensors engineered for continuous condition monitoring and protection of critical rotating machinery. As an essential component within proximity transducer systems, the 3300 XL 8 mm Proximity Probes are designed to deliver stable, repeatable, and linear measurement of shaft vibration, axial position, and relative displacement in demanding industrial environments.
Utilizing a proven non-contact eddy current measurement principle, the 3300 XL 8 mm Proximity Probes convert mechanical motion into a proportional voltage output without physical contact between the probe and the target surface. This non-contact design minimizes mechanical wear and ensures long-term signal consistency. The probes feature a defined 2 mm (80 mils) linear range, enabling precise detection of small shaft movements associated with imbalance, misalignment, bearing wear, rotor eccentricity, and thermal expansion.
The mechanical structure of the 3300 XL 8 mm Proximity Probes is optimized for reliability and environmental resistance. The probe housing is manufactured from AISI 303 or 304 stainless steel, providing excellent resistance to corrosion, vibration, and mechanical stress. The probe tip is made of polyphenylene sulfide (PPS), a high-performance material known for its dimensional stability, chemical resistance, and ability to withstand wide temperature variations. This construction allows the 8 mm Proximity Probes to operate reliably in oil-contaminated, humid, and chemically aggressive environments commonly found in power generation, oil and gas, petrochemical, and heavy industrial facilities.
Applications
1.Rotating Machinery Vibration Monitoring
The 3300 XL 8 mm Proximity Probes are widely applied for continuous radial vibration monitoring of rotating machinery such as turbines, compressors, pumps, and motors. By accurately tracking shaft displacement within the linear measurement range, the probes help identify abnormal vibration patterns and support early fault detection.
2.Axial Position and Thrust Control
In axial measurement applications, the 8 mm Proximity Probes provide reliable shaft position feedback for thrust bearing monitoring. Continuous axial displacement data helps prevent excessive thrust movement, reducing the risk of bearing damage and rotor contact.
3.Machinery Protection and Condition-Based Maintenance
Integrated into machinery protection and monitoring systems, the 3300 XL 8 mm Proximity Probes supply stable input signals for alarms, trips, and diagnostic analysis. This enables condition-based maintenance strategies that improve equipment reliability and extend asset life.
