Description
The 330901-16-24-10-02-05 3300 NSv Proximity Probe is a compact, high-accuracy eddy current displacement sensor designed for industrial automation and machinery protection systems operating in space-restricted installations. Featuring a 1/4-28 UNF threaded stainless steel probe case, a 1.0 meter standard cable, and a miniature coaxial ClickLoc connector, this 3300 NSv proximity probe is engineered to deliver stable vibration and position measurements in compressors, turbines, and fluid-film bearing machines where conventional 5 mm or 8 mm probes cannot be installed. Its polyphenylene sulfide (PPS) probe tip and AISI 304 stainless steel housing provide excellent chemical resistance and mechanical durability for continuous automation service.
Optimized for small target and limited side-view conditions, the 330901-16-24-10-02-05 probe provides a 1.5 mm (60 mils) linear measurement range with a recommended gap of 1.0 mm, ensuring reliable radial vibration, radial position, and axial thrust monitoring. The probe’s 50 Ω output resistance and extremely low supply sensitivity of less than 2 mV/V deliver consistent, low-noise signals to Proximitor sensors and downstream PLC or DCS platforms. Designed to withstand demanding environments, this 3300 NSv proximity probe operates reliably across a wide temperature range of -52°C to +177°C, supporting high-temperature compressor and process automation applications.
As a core element of the 3300 XL NSv Proximity Transducer System, this probe is mechanically and electrically interchangeable with legacy 3300 RAM probes, enabling cost-effective modernization without extensive mechanical changes. Enhanced side-view performance, gold-plated brass ClickLoc connectors, patented TipLoc bonding, and CableLoc technology rated to 220 N pull strength ensure secure installation, stable signal transmission, and long-term reliability. The 330901-16-24-10-02-05 model is an ideal automation-grade solution for compact machinery layouts requiring precise vibration and position feedback.
Applications
Application 1: Centrifugal Compressor Radial Vibration Monitoring
In centrifugal air and process gas compressors, the 3300 NSv proximity probe accurately measures radial shaft vibration on shafts smaller than 51 mm, using its 1.5 mm linear range to support automated protection and alarm systems.
Application 2: Refrigeration Compressor Position Monitoring
For refrigeration compressors with limited installation space, this probe enables stable radial position measurement at a 1.0 mm gap setting, improving operational stability and fault detection in automation control loops.
Application 3: Axial Thrust Position Measurement
Installed on fluid-film bearing machines, the probe measures axial thrust displacement on flat targets smaller than 15 mm, providing critical input to machinery protection systems for thrust bearing monitoring.
Application 4: Tachometer and Zero-Speed Detection
When configured for tachometer or zero-speed applications, the probe delivers clean phase reference signals with <2 mV/V supply sensitivity, enabling accurate speed detection and machine status feedback in PLC- and DCS-based automation systems.
Application 5: Phase Reference and Keyphasor Applications
In Keyphasor installations, the compact NSv probe ensures stable phase reference signals under high vibration and temperature conditions, supporting advanced vibration analysis and automated diagnostics.

Competitive Advantage
Competitive Advantage 1: Optimized for Tight and Restricted Installations
The NSv probe geometry and 1/4-28 UNF mounting thread enable reliable installation in counterbore, side-view, and rear-view constrained locations where standard proximity probes are impractical.
Competitive Advantage 2: High Signal Stability and Measurement Accuracy
With 50 Ω output resistance and ultra-low <2 mV/V supply sensitivity, the probe minimizes signal drift and noise, improving accuracy and reducing false alarms in automation systems.
Competitive Advantage 3: Wide Industrial Temperature Capability
Operating from -52°C to +177°C, the 330901-16-24-10-02-05 probe supports continuous use in high-temperature compressor and process environments beyond the limits of conventional sensors.
Competitive Advantage 4: Enhanced Mechanical and Chemical Durability
The PPS probe tip, AISI 304 stainless steel case, and 220 N CableLoc pull strength provide superior resistance to chemicals, vibration, and mechanical stress, extending service life.
Competitive Advantage 5: Seamless Upgrade and Interchangeability
Mechanical and electrical compatibility with 3300 RAM systems enables cost-effective upgrades to the 3300 XL NSv platform, reducing retrofit time while improving overall automation performance and reliability.
