Description
The 3300 XL 8 mm Proximity Probe (model 330101-00-32-10-02-00) is a high-precision eddy current transducer designed for advanced industrial automation applications. This probe delivers an output voltage directly proportional to the distance between the probe tip and the monitored conductive surface, enabling both dynamic vibration and static position measurements. With a linear range of 2 mm (80 mils) and exceptional temperature stability from -52°C to +177°C (-62°F to +350°F), the 3300 XL 8 mm ensures reliable performance in the harshest operating conditions. The probe features a 3/8-24 UNF threaded case with maximum thread engagement of 0.563 in and is compatible with a standard miniature coaxial ClickLoc connector and extension cables up to 1.0 meter (3.3 feet). Its supply sensitivity is less than 2 mV change per volt of input, with an output resistance of 50 Ω and extension cable capacitance of 69.9 pF/m. The field wiring accommodates 0.2 to 1.5 mm² (16 to 24 AWG) cables. Fully compliant with API 670 mechanical and performance standards, the 3300 XL 8 mm probe allows complete interchangeability with other 3300 series components. Enhanced durability is achieved via the patented TipLoc molding method and CableLoc design, providing a 330 N (75 lbf) pull strength, with an optional FluidLoc cable to prevent fluid leakage. The 3300 XL 8 mm probe is engineered for precision, robustness, and seamless integration into automated machinery monitoring systems.
Applications
Vibration Monitoring on Fluid-Film Bearings
The 3300 XL 8 mm probe accurately measures shaft vibration in high-speed turbines, pumps, and compressors. With a linear range of 2 mm, it supports both routine condition monitoring and predictive maintenance programs.
Position Measurement for Rotating Machinery
It provides real-time rotor position measurements, critical for balancing operations and minimizing mechanical wear, ensuring precise feedback for automated control systems.
Keyphasor Reference and Speed Sensing
The probe outputs Keyphasor signals to synchronize measurements with rotating shafts, supporting speed calculations up to 20,000 RPM and integration with advanced process controllers.
Hydraulic and Pump Automation Systems
The probe is suitable for measuring dynamic displacement and vibration in hydraulic pumps and fluid-handling machinery, enabling automated alerts for cavitation or misalignment.
High-Temperature Industrial Processes
Operating reliably from -52°C to +177°C, the 3300 XL 8 mm probe is used in automated monitoring of turbines, compressors, and industrial furnaces under extreme conditions.
